I don't see why not. But I would bet you could find someone local to you to get it done and save shipping. I'm in Washington State. I paid $240 for the upholster job. A bit more than I figured on paying, but in the end I'm very happy with the results and it's a quality job.
I went the cheapo route and just bent the plate rather than making a new bracket.

Al- what did you settle on for mirrors? I'm leaning towards bar-ends, but saw that you've tried them and weren't quite sure if you liked them or not.

Well, they're the Emgo bar end mirrors and I hate them. I've got a lot of negative comments about them from friends. Very nice negative comments, like "I love the bike, but those mirrors gotta go". I'll get a picture up shortly after I go for an evening ride.

I think I need a bigger tank. That LTD peanut tank isn't going to cut it. But for now it gives me an excuse to go ride.
Me: I gotta go gas up the KZ before it gets dark.
Wife: You just gased it up yesterday.
Me: Yeah, but the tank is really small and I rode it a lot yesterday.
Wife: Can't you get a bigger tank?
Me:
Here's the mirrors.

yeah i love the look of the LTD tank but gassing up every 100 miles kinda blows. i have been on some long gravel road hauls with 300 miles between gas and i ended up strapping a 5 gallon tank on the back just to make it. bike is looking great btw.

Have you tried flipping the mirrors so they're right side up? They do look a little bulky. I'm currently trying to find mirrors for my build too, not sure what to settle on

I put some little, cheap bar ends on and am sirprised how well they work. I dont like how much wider they make the bike but will do until you come up with a better idea for me!

Devin, I flipped them up, and I mounted them to the original post location and they either look dorky or I can't see out of them. The real problem is they aren't convex. Even the slightest vibration and they're useless.
Leon, got a spare KZ tank laying around you want to part with? :silly:
Wayne, I'm searching constantly for the right mirrors. I think above the bars would look the best, like original, but more rectangular. I'll let you know when I find them.
Rode it to work today. Runs perfect and I love riding it. It's no Busa, but it sure is fun. Nobody would think twice to talk to me on my FJR or Busa, but on the KZ everyone's my buddy.

more rectangle ,like this
www.motorcycle-superstore.com/14/71/982/...SzyLkCFYdQ7AodPmsAAA
i have ran these on many kz's.
i would have them on my z1r right now but the superbike bars are to narrow to allow them to scre into the mounts because my fairing gets in the way.there are little extender kinda deals that offset the mounts i have thought about trying.course i would mahcine my own out  !
i have the round bar end mirrors on my z1r now.like wayne said i don't like the axtra width, and i didn't realize how much i go for the bars by swinging my hands up onto the grips and they run into the mirrors.i had to learn to "reach for the bars" differently.
you know me al i hate to part with my stash man  !
but if you get serious about a kz tank and can't find one i can probably dig something up.

Thanks Leon, I've been eyeballing those, and the GX, and the formula mirrors. The dimensions they give concern me though. I wish they would say the square dimensions of the mirror, then the stem length like they do on the formula mirrors.
I hear you about parting with stuff. Trade you a tank for a running Detroit 3-53, you gotta come get it though :woohoo:
