Devin, they should be the same diameter, within 0.25mm or less. You could sleeve the bracket without affecting anything. Or try to find a bracket that matches your swingarm and fits the shaft, but it may not exist.

Al,
I ran part #'s and dialed everything in with my digital caliper- turns out the guy I bought the rear brake assembly from had it labeled as a 96-98 model year system, so I bought it. Turns out the rear axle diameter was the same on the 96-97 model year (25mm), then downsized to a 20mm for 98-99 (that's what I have). The calipers are interchangeable, and removable from the mounts, so I ordered in the proper mount (which should solve all my issues). It was just a pain that we lost 2 hours of build time trying to figure it all out...

Been kind of a slacker lately. Got my shift linkage figured out. Need to add some locking nuts, but I'm waiting for the real chain to show up next week. Then maybe a short ride to whet my whistle before getting into the paint

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Need to cut off the heim joint bolts sticking out, or maybe stainless acorn nuts? Also need to make a stop for the kick stand as it interferes with the linkage at full retract. Either bond on a shim inside the clevis or make a clamp on stop attached to the frame. Next up is the tail light bracket.

Made a tail light bracket. I know, I copied Testarossa's idea. But if it looks good on another bike, I'm gonna use it.
Started sanding down everything to prep for painting. Tank and side panels, no problem. Tail had some chips that started flaking when I tried to feather them out. Many hours later the whole tail is peeled using a utility knife and occaisonally a heat gun.
Got the chain on too. Don't like the thin bushing on the shifter so I need to fix that up. Besides paint, Feels like I'm working on a short list to completion. But lots of busy little bits to button up.

Looks awesome. How close is that plate to the tire? Only reason I ask is I'm running an LED tail light and never would have though in a million years it'd contact my tire, until I ran 2-up and hit some pretty good bumps.

It's about 5" to the tire. I deleted all the 2up stuff. I don't like the plate location but I don't have any other good options. I may crease the plate a little so it doesn't look so straight up and dicular.

Looks great. I'm so jealous of your rear set-up, I want to head that way but I ride a shaftie and the thought of all that work gives me a migraine... haha
