Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Was kind of obvious though. They look good if you're not looking at the throat. New gaskets and o-rings so they should be good to go. I bench synched them, they were way off.

I used mothers aluminum polish and a buffing pad on a drill. I only spent about an hour on them but the mothers polish works wonders.

Been wanting to paint my exhaust for a while now. But the directions say to cure the paint within 8 hours of application. So figured I better get her to fire up first. Hardest parts was repairing the alternator wiring. Lots of odds and ends to take care of. Made a hanger off the rearset since the original mounts were cut off with the passenger pegs. Wiring is just draped over the bike. Sounds good with the baffle, sounds like a beast without.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Keep up the great work Haybus, and I like them steering stops and the sound of your motor.

Thanks Tony. Painted the exhaust with PlastiKote today. If you even look at that stuff cross eyed it falls off. Hopefully it will hold up now that it's cured. Unfortunately the heat turned the front half of the valve cover a bit gold. I even had a fan blowing on the motor. So much for Duplicolor engine paint? Oh well, I was running out of things to do. Ha, Ha, fak.
On another depressing front, looks like I'll have to remake my bar risers so the master cylinder clears the fork adjuster. Don't want the levers pointing up like a goon. I bought some Emgo bar end mirrors cause I like their shape. but they look stupid (to me) on the bar ends. However, they do look pretty good mounted where the stock mirrors go, with a little modification of course. I'm resuing the stock switch gear, throttle tube, brake and clutch perches. Maybe upgrade next winter.

Thanks Tony. The Duplicolor is supposed to be good to 500F, but I guess it couldn't hold up to 15+20 minutes of idling. Heat from the exhaust valves plus heat radiating up from the headers.
New taller bar clamps to get the master cylinder up off the fork adjuster and mounted the mirrors. :silly:
I also made new dogbones to raise the back up a little and give more angle to the kick stand. I like the stance.

Bike looks great!!! BTW they have paint that will resist up to 1300 F, its what the pros use.

That looks so good man!!! And that seat really fits in well. I like to see a little free space in the back wheel area...new stance looks like its moving while standing still
