Shape look good to me...only thing to check is the edge on the seat. Too square and it will dig into your legs. Looks like you took care of that to some degree but its a personal feel deal. I personally like tha edge to be rounded off but I'm on the short side so its more noticable to me.

I rounded it quite a bit, but I'm 6'6" so the seat before didn't bother me that much except it pitched me a bit too far forward. Took care of that too.

Didn't really like the look of the clip-ons and they limited the turning radius. Made some clamp hardware and bent some pipe to drag bar dimensions. I think it looks better. Didn't have a radius cutter at home so the clamps are a bit square. Now I'll order up some drag bars.

Spend a good amount of time fabricating tools and taking apart my forks to see if they could be salvage/straightened. Not going to happen. The tube and leg are bent on both shocks. Oh well, they're now my mock up forks.
Thought I would get to work on that rack of carbs. Don't know if the black was factory or needlessly sprayed on by the PO. But it's gotta go.
Scrubbed off all the paint I could, but there's lots of nooks and crannies that are hard to reach. It comes off really easy so I was wondering if a bath in simmering Simple Green and water would get it loose. That's a bad idea. Dyed the carb black like an easter egg. It actually worked at first, if I'd only been smart enough to pull it out before the paint desolved.
The one on the left is the affected carb after much scrubbing. Still a bit darker than the untreated carb on the right.
I'm wondering if the DIY soda blaster would restore the sheen? It's back soaking in cold Simple Green and water for a day to see if that does anything.
Live and learn.
Alan

Worked up a quick DIY blaster for a test. Small box of Arm n Hammer that was all chunky probably wasn't great for a test, but didn't want to drive 5 miles to the store. Worked pretty good so I'm relieved. Progress re-engaged.
