Yeah, clearly from pictures you can see the frame is bent. :S if you could point to where, I'll start generous applications with a sledge hammer. The smooth bores are awesome and aren't going anywhere but on my bike.

All I can say here is, what a sexy beast... I can only hope mine comes out as clean and fresh looking as your build. Again, very nice work! Looking forward to the end product!

Not a lot of progress lately. Weekends have been maintenance on cars and my daily driver motorcycles.

Polished and painted the front rim. First time I've polished a wheel. Not my favorite task, but the result is worth it. Went to mount the calipers and apparently I repurposed the bolts for the foot peg mounts. 10mm fine is a bit harder to find in stainless.

Looking good!

I ended up buying from ARP for my caliper bolts. They had some stainless bolts with nice heads that were perfect for not as much $ as you might expect coming from ARP.

edit, this is what I used. Might be slightly different for your forks but perhaps a good starting point if you are looking around.

Bolts, Hex Head, Stainless 300, Polished, 10mm x 1.25 RH Thread, 70mm UHL, Set of 5 part number 763-1009

I was going put the stock caliper bolts in and get new SHCS bolts for the foot pegs. 10mm-1.25 x 45mm, doesn't seem like I'm asking for a lot, but damned if I can find them in stainless. I can find regular hex or flange head bolts, but not socket head. Too bad they're not Freedom threads.

I've read about the Dyna electronic ignition firing the coil(s) when you turn on the ignition. Still didn't prepare me for the pow when I got it all wired up tonight. Thought I blew something. Excellent throttle response, idles like never before. Can't wait to ride her, but need to be patient. So many little things to do still.

Sounds like it did the classic "clean the cylinders out when the key is turned" :P

I just picked up a Dyna for my 650, along with new Dyna spark leads. Overall, how tricky was it to get everything hooked up, and to get the timing set right?
