Great Job Alan, enjoy your bike.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Made a little bar clamp and holder for the ingition switch. Should be water proof, it's fully trapped inside the black case.

The Koso is a nice unit. Have you thought of the Acewell unit? Specifically the 2853? I like it simply because it resembles the stock pod look when it's got it's outer casing on.

There's a few more bikes on here with the Koso- it's definitely a really good looking unit

Yeah I've looked seriously at the Acewell 2853. It's nice and compact, but that's what concerns me. Seems like it would look too spartan. I think the Koso would occupy the space well.

Worked hard the last couple days to tidy up a few thing in anticipation of a test ride. A good friend wanted to come check it out, so I was especially motivated to get it road worthy. He didn't know he would be the 2nd rider, all the better. Took her out for a test run and she ran like crap. Would hardly pull back up the hill to my house and died before my driveway (I live in the sticks, that's like 1/4 mile away). Low and behold I forgot to turn on the gas. That's something I'll have to get used to, modern fuel injected bikes don't have petcocks!! Got her refired and headed back down the hill. That's more like it, she's running real good. Holy geebus, that throttle feels like it turns about 270 degrees. I'll have to change that at some point. So my buddy shows up and I follow him down the road. Side roads only, haven't had time to get the tabs, don't want hassles from the man. She sounds awesome from behind. We go further than I had earlier, and I tell him to open it up. No problem hitting 80 like lickity split. So I take her out again, and a little further (not everything is bolted down yet) and I'm really liking how she pulls and handles. Lots of mechanical music, nothing like my modern bikes. I don't ride them other than for commuting, but I can see taking the KZ out for fun on the weekends. She's a blast to ride and I'm not disappointed at all for starting this project. Now I just have to finish up so I can ride her more legal like (speedo!).
