Frame is modified, look no bottom engine support. Also look at those rubber mounts on the the sides..(drool). That or it isn't a kz frame.

Ok now I need some help. 3 items.

1. First is feedback on chopping the seat. I want it to be a single seater. I used black tape to show where I will cut. How does it look? should I modify such an old kit?

2. Rear set placement. Still not sold on my card board template placing them in a good place. I think they need to go back further.. Thoughts?

3. My shock mounts on the frame are not wide enough because the clutch side shock will hit the chain using the stock mounts. Is it ok to extend them with some kind of custom insert or something?

i had to space my upper shock mounts out to clear my 200mm rear tire,no biggie.
i just machined out some aluminum spacers and washers.
the shortened tail looks good the way you have it "taped"out,i might want a little radius at the front instead of cutting it square tho.
the complete underside of the seat/tail might need a radius that went up a lil towards the tail instead of just being straight.
kinda like the underside of a kz tail.

i wouldn't hesitate to make the mods to the body kit if it was mine.

the pegs look like they are plenty far enough back and up.
but,

you can sit on it and test it.
so,
make it fit you.

Awesome thanks for the feedback and assistance.

I get what you mean about the rounding of the fender. Its a good idea.

I know what you mean about the spacers. So for your shocks did you maintain the original bolt length and had enough threads for the bolt to grab?

after moving it out i could get about 5-6 threads.so far that has been enough.

Ok, how strait is the shock mounted from the frame to swing arm cause on my last pic, its not strait and that's with one or two threads..I think I will need an extension.. :(

Make a spacer that slides over the shaft part of the shock mount to space out the shocks. Then make a nut the same OD as the shock mount with an internal thread and a hex head. The nut would be ~1mm short of bottoming so it can clamp the shock eye. Yeah, it's going to be a thin wall nut. Seems like you're too far along to cut off the mount to weld on a new one.

they are straight and square :) .

you could drill and tap the center of the stud, and spin out a sleeve/spacer that covered the threads and made them the same size as the rest of the stud then a little custom washer and allen head and bam yer done!

if i could draw your attention to the upper shock mount on this bike to illustrate what i am talking about with a bolt and countersunk washer.
