I took the seat in for custom white and black leather.($$$ expensive, I don't know what Americans pay but it was $250)
The headers are done...Remember when I said I had some crazy idea's for the scheme of the bike? This is a taste of the craziness and its only the beginning.
The muffler piece needs some sanding and clear coat before its ready but the header is done and will give you guys the idea of how the whole exhaust will look.

hollywood i mean this in the most sincere way .
your exhaust treatment makes me kinda woozy, .
i kept quite about the green engine covers but the exhaust is just a little too much dr. seuss for me sir.
purely my opinion,it is your bike and you should build and paint it just as you see fit.
despite what my opinion may or may not be .
keep up the good work and keep us posted.

I actually thought it might be too much for some people. I'll hopefully get the clear done tomorrow on the rest of the exhaust so you can see it together and I'm pretty sure it will look better. The candy cane on the exhaust is there for a reason as it will tie into the rest of the paint that is approaching in the next few weekends. To set the vision up the bike is going to white, black and green with sight chrome/metal bits, I think once you all see it together and done where my vision becomes reality, most will change their minds.. I was actually surprised Leon about your dislike of the green bits, this is the first time I incorporated the manufacture colors on a bike build, no patriotic Kawasaki color support?
On the street I'm quite sure it will attract all kinds of attention with the bimota kit and the modern suspension. I think most wont even know what it is. And if anyone on the road thinks its "ghay" then who gives a shit because in the end its bad ass supercharged 70's Z1..

Now add in a bike painted many different vibrant colors and patterns screaming for attention like say a lot of crotch rocket kawayamazukis etc. are and mix that into the kaleidoscope you are experiencing driving along...
In the military it is known as "dazzle camouflage" and even though it seems counter-intuitive it does work. Here's 1 example...

i got all kindsa green loyalty,
i talked one of my buddies into painting his kz650 kawi green with white rally stripes.
i also have a 1978 z1r that is getting the elr treatment.
but,
i do not like body colors on engines or frames  .too much crayola box for me.
but hey, that is just one dumba$$es opinion halfway across the country from you.
and besides,
it would be a very boring world if we ALL liked cool sh!t :woohoo: :silly:  !!!!!!!!!
keep up the good work and show me how that pipe is going to tie in with the rest of your vision.

The rest of the bike body, wheels, seat vinyl will be black and white and the frame stays black as I agree colored frames dont look right to me either. The green bits are mostly what I have made green in my posts. The calipers and the trip clamps are the last green items to be done save some wheel highlights.
I appreciate the advice on the traffic safety. I never thought of that much and looking at that dazzle camouflage battle cruiser I think my paint job would definately qualify. I take some salvation in both my z1s hav a pretty aggressive exhaust note for a sporty 4cyl compared to the newer crotch rockets keeping people around me aware. I also try to keep my distance from cars.
