Wait till you see this! You're gonna love it..
There are a few people who have been less pleased with some of my decisions, some might change your minds after I show this next series of pic posts.. I had some hesitations with the R1 stuff due to the large rear and some of the integrations constraints. Now after witnessing the bike in real life with the set-up, I am super happy as it looks super bad ass as it has a bit of a drag look to it.

Any suggestions appreciated.
1. R1 upper trip hits the gas tank well before the steering stops do. I think I need a custom upper triple now.. I guess if I need a custom one I will make it raise the forks.
2. The steering stops need to modified in the lower trip as well as there isn't enough rotating. I was going to see if I can grind enough away otherwise they have to go and I'm going to have to cut them off and drill and tap holes for bolts to do the stopping. More work... :pinch:
3. Because of my larger oil pan which then means lower exhaust I think the bike might be too low to the ground now.. It sits quite a bit lower now.. This I will have to test later to verify but I think it's extremely likely.. :pinch:
4. One the bimota fender looks quite a bit better than the R1 fender but requires a custom mount which in the end = more work. I think what I might do is attempt to basterdize the R1 to the point of no return to see if I can get it to look good enough to roll with which I think will take me less time than fabing an aluminium piece. :pinch:
Trip hitting the tank.

bluezbike wrote: Tons of really cool fab work Hollywood. This is just my personal opinion....I prefer the Bimota fender as it is a little "quieter". I believe you should let that AWESOME motor do all the talking!! In appearance as well as on the street where it matters! The other thing you might want to try is to reverse the front fender making the body work appear a little longer. Is there any way you can bring the tank back a bit to help clear the triple? The lower part of the tail section is a little too dominant to my eye but I like the square upswing behind the seat...bit like a rear spoiler....The wheels and rear swingarm are spot on and I think you have the amount of stretch right on the money, I also like the black forks. Such a cool looking bike!!!
Thanks mang! Ya I'm really digging the slight stretch too.
I like the bimota fender too but I will try this idea to make the R1 fender look more plain (I'm thinking I will probably wreck it trying though)..lol
Ya I test fitted the bimota tank with the KZ suspension and it was fine so the issue is specific to the R1 front. I can move the tank its made for the kz frame so it has the same stops as the stock tank. I "could" take off the rubber grommets off the frame see if it makes a difference but I wouldn't want to run without them.
Ya the bimota rear is a unique one, not everyone's fav that's for sure. I have a H2 rear fairing kicking around but it doesn't look right with the bimota tank. Funny enough the bimota looks more natural...lol.
Here is a pic with it painted and the tail light, to me it looks more normal that way. If you look closely this person chopped the length on the rear fender to basically leave a little after the licence plate and that's it. If you look at mine there is a good several inches more of a drop hang part.

which ain't a bad thing if you ask me  .
your bodywork has that funky cool 70's vibe.
i love the stance and everything else about the bike.
kinda on the fence over the bodywork tho,it can't help but be cool i think.
i am still waitin to see how you bring it all together with the paint
keep us posted,
