This is what I am doing to fix the gap to the tank now. Once all set I will shape it properly so ignore the extra material.

The bad; made little progress, the good; a bunch of cool shit on the way!
Nice 1" aluminium spacer for my new intake manifold for my S&S E carb. I wanted a slightly longer intake tube to allow the fuel to atomise better. The stock setup with the carb bolted direct to the super charger seemed a bit "non engineered" to me.
Man what a slow down it has been after fucking with the seat. It's actually slowed me down quite a bit cause I cant prime anything until the seat is ready for paint. I had to cut the new fiber glass work and redo the seat. It looked good at the early stages of setting but it slipped in one corner resulting into cutting it all and redoing it. This time I set it touching the gas tank to set. It's all a learning experience. I also further examined the other bimota seat and there more room for me to thin the seat hight dimension wise, so I have a plan for that.
I prepped the tires for paint! And the rotors clear coat went well. I just got to clear coat the trips and I'm good to go to put the front back together.
My buddy is making me the shock mounts for the swing arm and I will have to use leon's trick for the shock bolts on the frame. Are the shock bolts welded in?

The super E is a big carb. It's known for poor atomisation on the MJ. The thunder jets will make it much less an issue though. I wanted the extension for the same reasons as zed explained as well. Like I said earlier I don't think the manifold was engineered well stock and the stock flange was pretty much "on the lobes" and the old hole diameter covered only about 20% of the lobe area. It's my opinion this design results in less power. I wanted the intake manifold to be wider and longer (Plus I need some clearance fit-meant wise). My manifold will be similar to zeds but I'm actually going to attempt to make mine slightly wider. I bought the adaptor for a few other reasons as well. To be a new flange to weld to and I wanted more vacuum pressure built up before hitting the wide part of the manifold. If it ends up being too much intake manifold volume I will put a divider plate in the adaptor portion.
Tomolu5 wrote: Umm...I'm kind of lost on the green rotors, is this a show only bike, or is there some paint technology I'm not aware of? Forgive me for not having time to read the whole thread, but I will.
Not a show bike at all. The rotors are green cause I wanted green rotors! lol.
I'm just bugging, I know what your asking, the overspray.. Basically the paint that's on the rotors where the brake pads will touch will last only a few minutes of braking leaving a nice line that I never had to tape. I promise you the paint on the brake portion of the rotors is only over spray so it's quite a bit lighter.

My buddy Jason made these ones. The one in the pics is the right side due to the swing arm is thinner on the right..

Ya it is for sure. I wish I had more than a 1-2 days week to spend on the bike.
Updates; Wheels have the first coats of automotive urethane. (Ran out! Doh!
And the SEAT (the bane of my build now) I had the re-enforce the gaps from the last mod. Hopefully its dry tomorrow so I can finally finish it.
