if it were mine, and since u have a modern tail pipe. i would go longer and more upswept. this is most often done with a double bend.
let me see if i can find some pics to get my thoughts across.

I bought "J" bend mandrel bends from Summit Racing and will weld them together, and take the weld down until it will disappear under ceramic coat. I am also going to make the header and mid pipe as one.

can u make the mid pipe longer, to bring your tail back farther??

That said, my new pipe is the longer up swept design. :whistle:
Whatever way you go, if you keep it tight to the bike, you won't go wrong.
