I appreciate the feedback.  I have considered the slack tension under decel, so I see your concern.  I have also see fixed rollers depending on position in relation to the pivot work without great force.

I think I’ll remove the idler and keep an eye on it.  I have considered putting the plastic pad on the lower tube, but that will also just make less clearance, so I’ll leave it and see if it comes in contact.

So got my Ford Escort exhaust sprocket back from the plater.  Not sure, but thinking about having it and the alternator cases chromed?

 
 

I am torn as I kind of like the shiny, satin look and the cast aluminum goes with the engine cases…..



What do you think?

That belt drive setup is very cool.
Just curious, will the alternator turn fast enough at low engine RPM's?
