ok its winter in ohio and that means project time and this year is no diff. but i have to say i got thrown a curve.3 years ago my son brought home a kz1000 that was well pretty rough and in a few boxes but he had a dream and to be truthfull so did i.it brought me back to my younger days.by spring we came up with the green one. after watching him go down the road the whole summer i had to have one so winter came we built the orange one for me. here it is 3 years later and it was project time and i was geared up to delieve it or not build a bad ass yamaha sx650 bobber i just like the looks.over the summer we took the bikes to the strip a few times and had a blast but running the crap out of the bikes just made me sick. so heres the curve he said forget about that bobber stuff your not a yamaha man anyway lets build a dragbike  i will say this was not even a thought but if he was intrested in a d/dike i figured he would help build it more than what i wanted to build spending time with him was more important to me than a bobber so d/bike this winter is what it is .

Awesome :)

Those are both nice bikes you've built. The green one reminds me of a Kawasaki Mean Streak.

ok, alittle history on what came to be the bike. went on craigs list to find a bike found one about 65 miles from me and went to check it out.it was supposed to have a 1075 it had the air shift - dg s/arm - falicon crank - ect. it had a diff. frt end on it & title $1500.00 it ran what the heck i bought it. got home the carbs was screwed put mine on it rode it few times. i had a bad feeling about it to get to the point i didnt like it at all.about a week later i found another one about the same distance from me. it had been listed for about 3 months as a kz1260 - air clutch - rev limiter for sale or trade  so callad, he said he got it from someone ect. its a dragbike no title he cant sell it sooo!! you want to trade for one with title i say its easyer to sell and he said mybe bring it up. got up there it was a full blown dragbike :woohoo: old skool looking but everything you could put on one was on it and i mean every thing. it ran i gave him a $100.00 and mine and down the rode i went. the one on the left in the pic is the first one

Wow, I love the paint on the one on the left in the last picture. I wonder what kind of paint that is? And that is the one you traded off for the other? Nice looking bikes!

That paint is Dupont "chroma-Illusion" came out about 10-12 years ago. Jeff Gordon had his nascar painted with it in the "Winston" classic. In the May Allstar race at Charlotte 10-12 years ago.
It flips to about 5-6 colors. It was hot when it first came out, but people got sick of it after awhile.
Oh Ya! back then it cost $580 dollars a quart! :woohoo:
