Search "Jack" from Ontario Canada. His blue Mark II 1500cc dragbike. He took off the stator and rotor.
Built a starter with some high amp batteries. His dragbike is a starter button bike.
And very nice also.

Your bike is looking great. B)
i use a Honda starter for my kz1200 but it is only 10.5:1.
the H starters turn over faster than the kz's.

i forgot to check back on your post, u asked about the basket springs.
they are there to take the shock out when u launch. without them the crank and trany would be connected solid, so they compress to lessen any damage to the power train. it is common for them to get week, and brake. i found a broken 1 in my pan. APE has a replacement CLUTCH HUB REBUILD KIT, (spring package) $95.
kzzone.com/clutches.html
I changed mine out . its not dif but u may need a press. u drill out the old rivets , take it apart, and then smooth the inner spring pockets with a dremel. the springs can chew the mating plate surface up. then u press the new rivets in and weld them.

i did some checkin on the starter thing then i checked on the budget thing its not there so that isnt happening this year.stopped up to a buddy of mine and he brought out a extended kiker shaft that sticks out far enough that when you kick it you dont hit the pipe so am going that route.i will still use the outboard starter to. i have been doing some research on the 2 tracks that i will be running at and they dont have a box class unless your in a pro class (iam not) so my question is how do people bypass the box.they unplug them and take them off.now i dont know shit from cupcakes when it comes to this but there is alot of wireing on this thing has anyone ever done this i know this is a shot in the dark but i figure most of them are wired about the same i still want everthing to work. any help would be great if not well iam not sure what to do. i dont know anyone around me that has this stuff.
