nice video larry but not sure i agree with you...

always considered myself a pretty hard twisty roads rider, almost never got passed in public roads and yet, found it was meaningless when i started to road race and got spanked for the first year or two, its so different that theres no comparison really.

on the other hand, seen some really strong road racers not being so fast on public roads, further evidence that the two riding styles are just different.

Got back from the races this weekend - met some great people, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Unfortunately for other reasons this project is being put on hold. Might start it back up soon, but it might be a bust at this point. We'll see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ooops, sorry to hear that DD, hope its nothing too serious.

going racing on a self built bike is quite an enterprise, so maybe have a go at it when you can really dedicate fully.

maybe some can do it with a light involvement, not me... both my race bike builds took a good 300-400 hours each and towards the end it was more like every evening after work in the garage from 8 PM till midnight for quite a few weeks.

It's difficult anyway, so better wait for a time when you can enjoy doing it.

Yeah, I'm at least taking a break from it. It has created a couple of rough relationships at home that need to be smoothed over first. It's definitely a consuming project, even when you aren't actually working on it. We'll see, I may just wait until the weather gets colder to pick it up again.

Sorry to hear about your problem DD. I hope it all works out for U.
dont sweat the race bike, just keep enjoying your road bike. Maybe u can fit in a track day on the road bike. :)

Well, consider this.... most people don't do track days, less people race and even less build their own race bikes.... so there must be a few reasons for that, like:

time, money, wife/Family/GF :)

choose your own order of importance

Thanks guys. Like I said, it's on hold. I think it will still happen. Especially after spending all that money on engine bits.

Still keeping at it. Hoping to take off the week of X-mas to get a ton of work done. Might even be able to fire up the engine. Clearances have been measured and hoping to get the machining done in the next week.
