I just wish I knew what they were called... Apparently not pivot bolt, ball joint bolt, etc, etc.

Ha! Spherical rod ends! I was thinking about getting these to replace the ones on there and then getting an off-the-shelf rod from fastfromthepast, they're only $8 and have a lot of options.

they look pretty nice.
use your imagination, i'm sure u can make them work.
just google Heim joint. $3 each.

i have a spare set here , and i have some alum mounting plate material if u want some.
u could also just get alum rod. drill and tap the ends and use the ends that u have.
Or, rather than bending a rod, u may be able to space the ends over with a bolt, or 1 of these spacers.

Thanks Mark. I couldn't figure out what the joint was called, so that's very helpful.
The rearsets are nicely done. The backing plate is completely threaded except for two of the holes so I can move the rearsets around on the plate to fine tune the location.
I need to come up with some "sleeves" to weld into the rear peg ears, I don't trust it much without something like that to add some rigidity/support. Anyonoe have any leads? I think the bolts will be M6 or M8 that would go through them, don't need them to be threaded.

i would mount them and stand on them before making that decision. it is not normal to need an added support. but since these r not normal, i will leave that to u to judges. after all, it is your bum on the line.

Thanks, Mark. My concern is that the back side isn't a flat surface for a nut to sit flush on. Maybe I can come up with a simpler solution to provide that shoulder surface.

I'll grab a photo of the spot I'm concerned about tomorrow. I can't say for sure, but I think I'm happy with the pedal placement right now. I have a photo of a vintage WERA Kz650 running the pegs in a similar location. We'll see. I might move them forward still.
