I wish I would have thought of that one back in the day. If I can't sell that windshield that came with my GS, I'll just save it for the next time I get to run a knee mill.

You haven't lived until you get a hot chip down your shirt sleeve. Had one stick in my armpit one time. :pinch:

oh testa, never had one in the ol armpit.
the ones in my ear are the worst cause then you can really hear them sizzle! :pinch:

my buddy wrecked his vtx1300 two winters ago and i repaired it.for some reason i kept the old windshield.then i used an old dial indicator stand to bolt it too for quick placement.now i can look at the cut real close without dodgin chips.
i really like how the chips close up while they are cooling in the air,so when they land on you they grab on and you can't just shake em off.
lets you know you are still alive.:woohoo:

Leon, you should try one of these some time: www.iscar.com/Ecat/familyHDR.asp/fnum/23...TYP/M/type/1/lang/EN

I had a 4" diameter one running 4000 rpm at 100 inches/minute cutting aluminum on one of our open bed mills one time. It would throw chips into the next county. I set up a chip screen that was made from two screen doors hinged together to try and stop the chips. If left running too long the fiberglass screen material would start burning.

I knew that was coming. Ever had your pants get inside your boot, and had one of those hot bb's make it down your boot? Happy dance time. Sorry for polluting your thread with machinist talk Joe.
