joe does that lil ball joint on your shifter lever un bolt or is it like pressed in and staked over/kinda like rivited?
glad your parts showed up.i had enough crap going today that i only got in the shop for about 30 mins.
but,i did get your upper triple clamp clamped down to the mill table and fly cut .125 thousandths off the bottom of it where the stem goes through(which is an eighth of an inch that the legs can drop down to help get some ground clearance back)seems like larry said that he removed like 5 millimeters but i am not sure.i have tomorrow to get some stuff done and hopefully can make some good progress.

yes, there is a ball joint that swivels. not really sure how im ganna apply that in my application yet. ill be asking lots of questions when the time come. heres a picture.... looks like its riveted, its comming off?

right now i am making sure all the motor mounts and bolts are correct for a safe mount. once i get the triples, ill get the bearings and install the front end. then i can start squaring everything up. front, rear, and sprockets lining up. throw up some pics Leon, i love me some pics..lol. have a great day. dont work too hard....Joe

joe i built a new shift linkage for a guy that had a honda aero chopper/bobber dealio that had the non replaceable ball joint.i ground the rivited head off and punched it out and welded it up and then drilled it to 1/4 so that i could use rod ends from the local race car parts house.i also bought the right and left hand nuts that i then welded on the ends of some 1/2 inch chro-mo tubing.you could do the same kinda thing to build your linkage, simple, effective, looks nice, and is tough and easily fixed or rebuilt.

i didn't build the forward control bracket,nor am i a believer in them stupidsticous bells :) .

now i am headed out to build a fire and get some work done pictures to come :silly: .

here is the upper triple bolted down getting the steering stem boss that was underneath cut off.

i ended up cutting 5.5 mm off which is what it took to match the top of the kz stem.

then i had to bore the steering stem hole out to match the kz stem, which was bigger than the zx hole.

Ohhhhh, listen to the 'real men' wouldjya! :P

It's actually knee surgery at the end of the fall semester, Christmas break, setting on my butt (when not on crutches), the garage is half-way-done (tornado-thing drained my garage funds), and my Kansas-bound (ie: snow everywhere) tail is net-surfing you 'real men' to keep motivated for when spring/summer gets here.

Now, shut your holes, and get back to work ... I need some more motivation!!!

:woohoo:
