Ha Ha, Well, I what i thought was a bent rotor tuned out to be the master link on the chain hitting the frame as it went around. Didnt plan for that one. That is how close my chain is to the frame. Turned it around and all is good. I like problems like that. Easy to fix and instant peace of mind. Been busy with work lately so not much progress on the bike. Plan to get a lot done this week and go riding this weekend. Supposed to be 70 in GA by Saturday.

Bike is looking great man!! Glad to hear you got her on the road and will be making the trip, im sure we can work the dates out and make it happen.

You got some decisions to make on the tank and tail.. you know what im partial to. :) With that said, if you decide to NOT use the GPZ tank, I will be happy to take it off your hands at a fair price.. ;)

Thanks man. I got 60 miles on her today. All I can say is LOUD! my ears are ringing even after wearing a full face helmet. I see you've got us started with the flag. Looks like a great beginning to an epic trip. I'll let you know about the tank. I need to get some rear brakes on this thing before joining in on the relay.

congrats on the ride.
a little fiberglass wrapped around a baffle will help with the noise.

]Mark, im looking at your suggestion you posted above right this moment. I found the PERFORATED STAINLESS TUBING - 1-1/2" O.D. but I don't have a 2.5" cap to weld it to on the end. Any suggestions?

The trip was purposeful also, I rode to a motorcycle salvage yard to pick up a new rear master cylinder. Probably not the smartest thing to do but you have to take advantage of the weather when you can. Plus it let me work out some of the bugs.

This is my new idea for a muffler, I think Im just going to put the yoshi can on and make it so I can quickly unbolt it. Wish i already had the baffle for it. Looks like i am going to have to make one. An old school supertrapp would probably look good too if I can find one reasonable.

jydog, I have a newer helmet also (HJC fullface) and its the same sorta thing, its pretty big... makes me look like I have a fat head  . I don't know if the newer helmets are mostly like this or not. Sure is designed well though.

i would take a 1/2" strip of alum or steel and bend it into a circle to fit the pipes ID. then weld a circle plate into it for a cap. then drill a 1 1/2" hole in it. then weld it to the end of the perf pipe. then do the same at the other end :)

PS: if i could weld.

heres a pic i found. just for ideas.
