Damn!!!! That really does suck, but I'm glad to hear the engine didn't seize and lock up the rear wheel on you. You'll have her back on the road in no time. Ed

Thanks all.... ![B) B)](/media/kunena/emoticons/1.png)
It will be awhile but that's ok, have all winter long to set her up again...![;) ;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png)
1197cc displacement 9:1 (preferably for AZ heat) or no more then 10:25:1.
Of course New sleeves + bore/hone using the 903cc cylinder block.
New welded 903cc crank w/new bearings.... Thanks Plumi!![;) ;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png)
Camshafts (.365) look untouched so hopefully good there.
Timing components (top/side gears) look good.
Have to measure the stretch on the chain but seems ok at this point.
I will verify...
Once I get the cases split I'll be better to to state what the lower end components, drive train, tranny, clutch, shift drums/forks, gears etc... look like but either case, KZ1000 mix & match the best of the two for the most part. Existing clutch springs & plates fairly new so swap out to other clutch assembly if required. Thorough cleaning most definitely.
CR29's, clean especially #4... :pinch:
And the Pièce de résistance... KZ1000 head off to Larry....
Basically with this build, up size to GPZ valves, single stage port for the CR's...
Uhm Honey, I need more $$$.... :pinch:

"what were the other three spark plugs like?"...
Good question Jeff...
These were brand spanking new, ~100 miles on them when this occurred, just installed the day previous in prep for the ride.... On the ride up the mountain, no back firing/popping/pinging/knocking nor did I witness any flat spots in accelerations as in a too lean condition.
Visually, they seem a tad on the hot side (GROUND STRAP, INSULATOR COLORING ETC...) but hard to say with only 100 miles on them. Same time, if electrical or timing, #1 would also be effected... Larry and I discussed the possibility of a miss printed plug from the manufacturer...
We also discussed the possibility of the gas I used for the ride down the hill.
All in all, not sure what to think regarding how, just freaking weird... :S
