Nice stuff Dave. That's why I got my oil cooler, people say its overkill here in Canada, but I don't want my nice fresh engine build to be subjected to really high temps on a hot day. I got a thermostat for the cold days too.

Yup... thought of above and below and decided didn't want the extra heat of the exhaust or motor...
And I sure didn't want to have to dick around with the above method due valve cover removals... I'm constantly tweaking the old girl insuring she's dialed in ALL times...
Either way, extremely happy with the results... Next week will be the key test for laser temp on head intake/exhaust ports, engine cases, exhaust, spark plugs etc.... This will be the true test....
Then I'll redo again when 110 plus outside... If I can stay around the 230 mark in that heat, hell I'm golden....

Excellent work! I'm really shocked at that temp. I'd bet that you will achieve your goal. Nice job with all of the documentation of actual empirical test results. This eliminates the placebo effect that is soo common on motorcycle mods. Sounds like a worthy mod for those of us who ride in the heat belt.

"i was gonna get those line separators but i went the ghetto route....."
You cheap ass Pollack...    $11 each for the figure 8 spacers.... I was wanting the black ones but chrome is fine for what they do....
Yup Testa for Sacramento is where I believe you reside gets real hot in the summer as well so it will be real interesting to see how much this baby cools down in the extreme heat...
As discussed with Plum and Larry C, performance air cooled engines will and do generate a lot of heat as I found out last measurements and it wasn't even real hot out yet...
Kinda freaked me out in the beginning.... So here in AZ, no doubt, required a cooler... Most OEM coolers are small/flat 3-5 row coolers... These were originally designed for stock engine builds so probably efficient enough... I think anyways...
Now available is 10 row designs and this baby has a real low profile considering a curved 10 row design... 3" in height, 1.25" in thickness... The cooling area is 8" with an additional 3" (1.5" on each side) for the mounting arms... The curve is specifically designed for under steering stem motorcycle installations...
All in all, happy so far... I'll keep everyone posted once it reaches 92*F here.....
OMR
If anyone else is interested, cheapest I found... They also have all the Russell and other brand fittings...
