F me. AZ ahead of Cali on emission testing? Thats a first.
Knock on wood that they don't start this tact here soon.
You reminded me of a customer I had back in the day mowing lawns. He was a big rig mechanic and his hands looked like hamburger. Pulled me aside after my rounds in his yard and gave me a hint.
Go to school, don't let your hands get like mine.
Of course I didn't listen and now my hands look like yours.
Beating on all types of machinery for fun all my life. Glad I didn't wrench for a living or I'd be in the same boat...
BTW he passed within the year of this conversation. RIP.

Re: OMR: '76 KZ900 Restoration/Modification

We pulled a 150 miler this last weekend hitting all types of roads... My buddy has a Honda Interceptor VFR800...
Tight & Curvy roads to test the suspension and front conversion, long straight away to twist the throttle & stop and go traffic as well....
The first part of the trek was mostly to get comfortable with the bike itself, seeing & learning how she handled & responded...
Towards the end, had the opportunity to truly twist the throttle while in third gear... My bud kept putting the throttle to me trying too egg me on, so I figured it was time to see what the old girl truly had in her....
If I didn't know better (happened rather quickly) I'd say the front tire came off the ground a couple of inches for she pulled so friggin hard I hyper spaced 2-3 bike lengths past him and still had throttle left... :woohoo:
Surprised my helmet didn't split from the grin on my face...
All my bud could say later on was "BLODDY HELL"... he's English....
All in all.... the plugs look a light tan (still keeping my eye on them) and she's running extremely strong, just as I had in mind. Nothing over killed but more realistic where a strong running motor was ideal with some additional zip to the old girl![;) ;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png)
Presently going through and re-torquing every bolt on this motor and frame/suspension.... Every other ride or when I start to hear chatter, re-adjusting the cam chain tensioner. Checking the 630 chain slack & tire pressure. I still have suspension changes to learn and adjust yet (front & back)...
Again, Plummen, Timebomb, Kawsakman(Steve) & Larry C and any of you others I just can't remember for the moment... THANKS! for I couldn't have done it without your guidance and more importantly, friendship....![B) B)](/media/kunena/emoticons/1.png)
