I am not sure about the domes, Supposedly these are custom, I have no idea. These were made to fit the"Bathtub" while still using the earlier crank and leaves. Now I have to take the pistons and Ceramic coat the crowns and Molly coat the skirts.

i think it was from a kit that folks sold during the gpz's short rule.......ive seen the kits and the closest one to the shape i had are white plastic molds and need to be drilled and painted.....mine mounted with angled inner bracketts to the engine mounts upper and under......was already installed and painted gpz red......ive seen some others but they were bulby looking or even way weird in finished product.....you can tell the good ones cause they fit and really hug the belly and header area.....the bad ones hang down too far....in a short first glance look at yours ity is a good product along the lines of how mine was and mine fit the 81gpz1100 like a glove....my 2 centsotakar wrote:

Mine is molded out of BLACK plastic and was painted in original factory lacquer with the blue and silver stripes on it that were also factory. I know that they are still available today but made out of Fiber Glass and come white. These pistons are a forging.

Well today I started putting together my New ported & polished head. I had some custom "shim on top" Titanium valve spring retainers made and I installed oversize stainless steel intake valves. This is the 84 GPz1100 head if you remember. the only thing that is left to do on this head is to paint it. I will be using Polane-B in a Titanium color for the entire top end. Here is a pic of the custom valve spring retainers.

Well- today I did a bit of maintenance. I removed the chain and cleaned it. It had a few tight links, and I did not want it to destroy itself, along with the rear sprocket. I also finally put my modification into the Mikuni BS34 carburetors. I must say even though I have still to mount the 1140 top end on it with all of its goodies, the carbs make it run like a "Raped Ape" Where before things were getting a little stagnant between 5K and 7K revs, now it is where all of the action is. Now when it hits 7K it pulls like a monster. Those custom carb needles really seem to do the trick. Now I am getting really exited about putting the big top end on it. This thing will be a real monster. Now I only need a couple of small things for my fuel injection, and things will be almost finished.
