Sorry I don’t understand what u mean by restrictive?
Do u have a modern FI or the old gpz stuff?
The large throat of a 36mm carb is way to big to get good vacuum at low rpms , as you already said CV's just don’t, and can’t have good throttle response.
The hole point of FI is to improve atomization AND inject. so u don’t need good vacuum at low rpm to get to good response. with the CV's u waste a lot of fuel do to poor atomization. the old FI units did not have very good heads available at that time so they did a poor job, but the theory was correct. Now the nozzles have way more jets so the atomization is top notch at all rpms.
I wish I had the funds and more knowledge on this. I would love to try this out myself.:woohoo: I think it would rip.

The more i learn about flame travel the more i question the use of this chamber shape on a KZ. what do u think about this chamber as apposed to the standard shape?
It looks to me like they just did this to accommodate the larger 38mm valves . The deeper chamber can only cause the burn to take longer, thus depriving top end and promoting detination.
We can put larger 37.5mm valves in a kz head and have a smaller chamber to promote a better burn, or 38mm valves in the j head , but the j has a larger chamber than th kz. what is your take on this?
What are u going to set your squish clearance at ?

Hi otakar, I think I've read through your project build at least twice since you started this thread. Great job! Very inspirational.
I'm going to try and locate a source for polane today. Thanks for all the advice.

Here is another view. The ballast is installed with the heavy duty interlocking Velcro like is used on Toll transmitters on your windshield.

Here is the new headlight compared to the old. The new one has the mounting ring already mounted. It has a clear lens and the light dispersion faceting is on the reflector. The light is a modified car headlight.
