Hay KR, Are you a Jar-Head too? I've got an M-9 also. A pretty little thing I must say, but just a toy in comparison to the 1911A1. What a mistake it was to change. All just to abide by the Geneva convention and to make the rest of the NATO wooses happy.
Alas, no; I am a humble retired Army officer. And I would like to say this before I go on: I am proud of the US Army and all Army soldiers and I am honored to have served this country. I was an officer during the transition during the 'kinder, gentler' transition years and got out when (in my opinion) the true Army was cerebraly gutted and good men were ham-strung in developing soldiers...(ooooops...starting to rant...gotta stop).
I would say this: The US Marine Corps has the last bastion of esprit de corps left in the United States military; as a college prof I worked (at my last university) with nothin' but USMC Reservists and like the Marines that I knew from my active duty interaction, these reservists truly exemplified the best in the military. You have my respect.
AND, you're crackin' me up with your (extremely accurate) NATO analogy!!! My personal thoughts on the M-9 is that it's a fine weapon, but (like you) I'd rather be launching 'ash-trays' as projectiles instead of pencil erasers. I (probably like you) have more than one example of .45 in my possession; and as a former police officer I advocate 9s or 45s over the trendy 40s that are "all the rage" in law enforcement these days...but don't get me started down that trail...we'll be here for EVER.
Again: My respect for your service, my admiration for your branch, and my enthusiastic support of your m/c build with a tip-of-the-hat to your mechanical skills.
Drive on, and if I may keep your motivational "hoo-rah" adapted to my personal life over my less enthusiastic "hu-uh" alma-matter and claim that Semper Fidelis is indeed my motto,

PS> I am also contemplating the latest from Acewell and I am also waiting for a price on the thing...they promised me that they'd have it priced out in July...that was July 2008!

Well I did get hold of some people at ASS-Well and was informed that the units should be ready to ship in about 60 days. The price should fall around 250 Bones. I guess there will be some options available on the units and, that will be reflected in the price. I would love to mount that saka on the right side and my Garmin on the left. I think that would make a very cool instrument cluster.
My younger brother has finally decided to get back into bikes, and picked up a 93 ZR750 Zephyr. It is a pretty bike and just a continuation of the older KZ750. Many parts are interchangeable. Because cosmetically the bike was well faded, he decided that he liked the red color on my GPZ. Well, yesterday I painted everything but the gas tank. We found that there was a pinhole in the lower section below one of the emblems due to internal rust. I will however post pictures of the painted parts in a day or two. Now we have to figure out what we want to do with the tank. Zephyr tanks are hard to find. Since the tank is well free of all flammable fumes, I was thinking of breaking threw that section to get to solid metal and than Silver brassing the area. He is in the process of removing all the rust now with some rust remover. Once everything is cleaned and fixed I can paint it. I am also in the process of getting a spare tank for my GPz. I always believe in spare parts. More the better.

Since i went to the 17" rim my speedo is out.
I'm sure this will be the answer. i like the idea that it has a temp sensor. I just need to find a sensor.
i had an Auto Meter temp guage last year but it died the first time i started the bike.
They replaced it under warany but said that it will not stand the vibrations of a motorcycle.

I do not have a ETA on when we are suppose to be receive the 4xxx
series. We were suppose to have it at the end of last year. The cost is
going to be anywhere from $229-269 depending on the model that you
order.

Do you have an estimated ETA on the device and an estimated price range?
I just added you on the waiting list. As soon as I find something out I
will send you an email or give you a call whichever is easiest for you.
Best Regards,
Hi Otto,
I can put you on a waiting list for the 4000 series, but I would also
need your street address and phone number.
Best Regards,
Trent Kirby
