Well; Looks like what ever I do on this bike will have to wait a while. as of Tuesday I got laid off from work due to budgetary cut backs. Can't understand how they can keep 12 CAD engineers busy but not one prototype builder. The Monkey they kept has the skills of just that, a monkey. THIS SUCKS.

I was self employed for over 20 years, when I decided to take a engineering job at a company that literally dogged me to take the job after I resisted for 5 months. Than they were bought out by a Ausy company called TZ, that our company did not know was and is, defrauding their stock holders and their customers of huge amounts of money. Now they have succeeded to run our company in the ground and they are scrambling to stay afloat by cutting back. Their demise is inevitable though. The original owners of our company offered to by it back but the offer was refused. I hope something happens before they siphon my old company completely dry. I may try to back into my old trade of Air conditioning and refrigeration, but I think it might be hard. I will never work for or buy anything Ausy ever again. These guys really put a bad taste in my mouth.

I have my certification but I have been out of the game for five years now and would have to brush up on the new regs. What I don't understand is that after they made us get certified and have reclamation units, than they allow the BOX stores to sell R134 in cans to anyone off the street. I have no idea if R-22 is still in use or what has replaced it.

Very interesting thread i have a 82 Gpz 1100 100% standard and hard to resist doing some mods after following your work on here ..will have to get a spare one to play around with ! Sorry to hear of your employment situation i to am in that position ! I got made redundant and they kept so many monkeys to do the job ehhhh anyway i start with a competitor company next week so they can stick it !! I am in Australia and was wondering if you guys see many stock 1981-82 gpz 1100b`s still on the streets there in the US ?
6047 of the 1982 models were produced and i wonder how many are still alive ...not many left over/down here !

The models they sold here in the U.S. had black wheels where almost every place else they are red.

Wow...everybody else got red wheels? Geez man, I learn something new every day.
Oh, not too many 81 or 82s running around, but they do come by every now and then...hard bike to kill. :)
Nice XT.

That's why I built one, because I couldn't find one to buy. It would have been quite a bit cheaper to buy on, with what I already have invested. But there are some nice little goodies on mine which do not come on a stock GPz1100.
