You're getting ahead of yourself. Work put the problems first before you make changes that will effect jetting.

I actually don't think it will effect the jetting, This isn't a custom system, the collector is only 1 7/8" at the exit not 2 1/2" like the big boys. It might but I'm betting it's not going cause additional issues. The original headers were in worse condition than I thought. there were no bushings at all at any joint like they should be and if anything replacing system might help.

I'm a bit pissed. I was going to swap out oil pans but as was draining the oil I noticed that my replacement couldn't possibly fit. It doesn't have accommodation for the oil cooler or oil sensor. I bought a double oversized plug and copper crush washer and hope for the best.

But James, why don’t you take the original pan of and put a helicoil in and solve the problem for good.
You have already taken the headers of, go for it mate.

That was actually the plan. To avoid down time I was going to swap, build a 17-4 hardened stainless bushing install it and swap back. If I can't find a suitable replacement I'll do it when it turns cold.

I just went back to the listing that I bought the replacement from, Title says '82 GPz750, the fitment says KZ750N. :angry: We'll see how the return pans out.

Yep, got the ball rolling. I'm just wondering how cooperative the seller's going to be.

I bought my duel disks for super cheap. Said they were sitting in a loft for 30 years. Rusty. Being they are SS I knew they would clean up. They did. Some SS does rust but not like steel. I happily put them on, they were warped. You wouldn't notice by looking so I filed a not as described. I got my money back, the shipping was more than the price of the disks. I waited for a shipping lable but the seller dropped out. He did this to someone else too. A POS rack for a Z1 I could see was bent, high shipping. :angry:
No one would touch these things. A friend has a machine shop in his garage and turned the hubs, the disks were fine. I could still feel a slight pulsing in my lever. I put the bike on the centerstand, took a old time compresser with a belt drive, used the pully on the motor to spin the wheel. I used a oil stone to smooth out the scuff marks on the disks. It took a while but now they are smooth and straight. They work great. I bought a spare just in case.
The guy knew what he was doing and hoped he found a pigeon. I would have sent them back if he wanted them. I always wanted to ask him, How'd it work out for you? :whistle:

Just got this;

Good afternoon,
Sorry that oil pan didn't work out. I sent a full refund including shipping. There is no need to send it back.
Thanks,
Scott
