There's some J cams and GPZ 1100 cams on eBay now cheap. One ad says they are interchangeable and I wonder if that's true?

Steve

All the J and Z1100 / GPZ 1100 twin shock cams are pretty much the same .
It's only the 1000A Unitrack / Z1100R cams that are the higher lift ones.

Have you considered installing a gasket as was originally intended?

Hey Wookie58, Congratulations on your find!Hen's teeth   Tried to view the cam pictures on the Z1 owners club forum post but wasn't granted access. Please repost them here and we'll gloat  celebrate over them with you.
So I picked these little gems up last night and as a bonus got to meet another member of "our little family" Ian (the buelligan).
Ian is a great guy with an unbelievable toy box that he was good enough to let me see.

First thing as you go in the door was a freash built Z1 turbo motor on a pallet    oh and the "short motor" next to it is a 1327    then to a pair of turbo early Z's (one under a cover) and Ian's latest build (which will be a future BOTM for sure) a lowered and stretched turbo with nitrous and a "who's who" of top end parts front to rear

Those look like longer duration cams and I wonder what the lift is.

Just scored some Andrews 2X cams for $175 plus shipping.
Seems the guy was playing games with the best offer tab but more of that story in my thread.  We'll see what I get and I was able to nail down the price when I asked him what his bottom price would be.
He said $175 plus shipping then the games began.

One call to eBay and this morning I was notified they are being shipped.  Same guy I bought the coils from last week.

It's a game, I know it, he knows it, we all know it and with a little tact it can work out.
BTW there were 6 watchers on this item.

The top ring gap .013"   (75mm/2.95" cylinder bore)

 2.95"  x  .0045" = .013275"  (High-Performance Street/Strip)

Is this top ring gap ok for a daily rider?

Are the base circle and the measurable diameter of this 300° duration camshaft lobe both considered to be one and the same?

Or do the drawn lines show where the true base circle to lobe transition points are?

If so, then the drawing below (posted earlier) is incorrect, and my shim calculations are off!
