This thread is very entertaining. You certainly can tell which news stations the different members get their info from.  I run a seamless gutter company.  Aluminum prices have gone up 48% since 2020 without tariffs so something has to give. I'm willing to give it a chance. If it doesn't work the people will make them pay next election which isn't very far away.
I suspect you'll be surprized.

Only 48% increase on Aluminum?
The valve of my home doubled from 2020 to 2025 without any changes at all.
The federal reserve reserve has been doing a great job destroying the value of the dollar since 1913.
What country are you in?

What surprise is coming?

Gotta be enamored by the original intent and to how far Ed's thread of intent has come! Riddled with both sides of political rhetoric, thought this was a motorcycle sharing forum?? Aces Ed, You opened a nest, ha. Motorcycles and the loss of availability, lucky i restored this bird years ago when BOTH Parties didn't have as many fingers in Your pockets.

She's a stunner Clay - with regards the thread, given the subject matter it was always going to go astray   although I am happy to say it stayed amicable (I have monitored the responses closely) in the past we have had to shut threads down when things got "out of hand" where politics have crept in !!

I agree Wookie. While it's taken some close review and only a couple of deletions. I think we've done pretty well skirting so close to the abyss. Probably a result of us all belonging to the same community despite politics.

What is frustrating is I don't know what the total cost of a part will be. Will there be a service charge? What hoops do I need to jump through to get the part into my hands?

That's the mystery, You won't till You know. The carrier/shipper will ask for the tariff fee plus their "administrative" fee. And i can Grant you it'll be more then You paid for the part.

Yup my house too. Only problem is people don't seem to want to pay double for gutters on these high dollar homes. I'm in the USA.

Real world experience ordering bike parts from the UK to USA

This is NOT my personal experience, the info is in regards to importing bicycle parts not available in the USA.

UPS added $35 for fees on top of tariffs in the 20% range when ordering from England.

In all, +$91 on a $347 order

Bill came 3 weeks after the parts arrived.

What did you order?
Alternative source?
