Anyways, I fully expect my next car to be an EV. I currently drive a 2013 Honda Accord Sport. 4 cylinder, CVT, which I bought brand new. If my plan comes to fruition, I’ll be replacing it after it’s twenty year run (my nephew wants it) which comes right in at 2033.
By then, hopefully, we’ll have figured out which battery system is best, charging times will be fast and range is ample. My requirements are… Maximum charge time is 15 minutes for a 400 mile range. And I won’t pay a penny over $30k brand new. Perhaps the Honda/GM collaboration using LG Ultium batteries will pull this off.

Of course we’ll need to have the charging infrastructure in place (thank you Joe) and the myriad SMR's to power the whole thing.

I look forward to my electric car. Electric motorcycle… Not going to happen! Nope.

I really really really want an E-Legend.  Too bad they're limited run high dollar cars.

I think I may have just had a little trouser accident, that thing is awesome. I used to work on the original Quattro's back in the day, bit of a pig to work on but worth it for the road test

This company has the longest range out there right now...over 800 km.  Zero to 100 kph in under 2 seconds.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

so they reference one instance of an EV catching fire but make it seem like a massive problem?

thats textbook hasty generalization fallacy

Also, what is the definition of "a ton of electric vehicles" and what evidence does the speaker have that corroded batteries are going to catch fire?  (Provided they're not attempted to be used)

This article provides very little in the way of actual metrics/evidence and seems to target fearful readers.

Fox is no better than the rest of MSM. Fact they are reporting anything I find remarkable. I don't get my news from them. Just pointing out the truth is dripping out. Drip drip drip FLOOD.

I think nearly any vehicle involved in a saltwater (or any water) flood is going to be effectively a write-off.

The bigger issue is the changes in emergency response techniques and equipment that come with changes in automotive technology.

Competitive Enterprise Institute's Center for Energy and Environment is a Libertarian "think" tank (whose spokesman was quoted in the article), so their views are on the Far Right Radical Republican end of the political spectrum & probably financed by the oil & gas industry &/or the Koch brothers which would be a reasonable assumption.
