i'm not understanding, why u wouldn't use the stock KZ stem? with the stock stem u would use the stock KZ bearings.
i supose its 1 less thing for the new owner to have to do, just bolt it on. not a big deal if u are making all new parts anyways.
i am just curious.

the bottom and top clamp r not the same thickness as the stock clamps....I suppose u could machine the stock stem to fit....but if your going to machine it anyway....why not make a new piece?

I'm missing something here too - couldn't you have just made the new upper and lower clamps to fit the stock KZ stem? Maybe the stem would be too short because the new clamps are thicker? Sorry, just trying to make things right in my head...and that could take a while... :P

ok i get it. :)
You are absolutely right. No point trying to mod the old stem, when u can make a new one.B)
what is the fork holes diameter?

the measurement at the top of the forks is 50mm....and the lower clamping Dia. is 54mm

but the trouble you will have is the spacing between forks....you will probably have to space ...for the wheel and caliper rotor ...being a different brand....I dought they all ahve the same spacing between forks

ok fellas...its done....
the first set is going to pochev14....I am going to make 6 sets....I am going to keep 2 sets so that leaves 4....I am pretty sure I have a set sold...so 3

anyway the best I can do is 600...which will include a head light bracket and bar clamps...as well as the upper lower and stem.

if they all sell I will consider doing another 6 (a 12' piece will make 6 sets)

also I have been approached to build a complete roller for a fellow cannuck...so if that transpires you will see that as well....mr cavanaugh has already been contracted to build the head....so you know it will make some ponies.

as always first come ...you know the rest.

were gonna make the world cool again....one bike at a time!

later boys

I've got no business even considering a set of these but they are gorgeous! Can you refresh us on what front end components they are set up for? GSXR 1000, I think? What years will fit and what parts would we need? I think the entire front wheel, brake, fender, etc... plus the forks would slide right in your triples and we'd be good to go, right?

they will fit any fork with a 50mm upper dia and a 54mm lower dia....the problem you may or may not have if you use something other than a gsxr 1000 (03-07...and im pretty sure 750 forks work as well) is the spacing between the forks...you may have to fab spacers for your wheel and also your calipers.

it may just bolt up ....i just dont know....

hope this helps

Like you mentioned, if you buy a front end from an 03-07 GSXR 1000, everything will bolt right up - front wheel, axle, spacers, fender, etc... Just put KZ bearings on the new triple tree and bolt them to your frame. Then bolt on the new front end and you're ready to go! That is well worth $600 plus you get awesome looking billet pieces to show off. If you also have it so the stock gauges and headlight will work - that is heaven!

After recently completing a custom rebuild on my MKII I can tell you for sure that customizing parts can get real tricky - and expensive. If you can avoid having to custom fit all those front end components it would be sooo much easier. Once you change one part, it leads to another necessary change, and then another, and so on. It get's crazy, as you know!

Our biggest problem will be the sudden demand on eBay for late GSXR front ends!
