new gullwing triples...for modern fork conversion

#364009

well after finally getting off my arse...I have made some progress on the MKII triple trees
these will have 1" more offset front to back...more like the stock ones to allow for better steering geometry....
also they will have a 1" drop (gullwing) to help maintain stock ride height.
they will use stock z1/kz steering bearings (tapered rollers)
and still be able to mount stock guages as well as come with an integral headlight bracket...

heres a teaser to wet yer whistle...
if everything goes well ...might have a set done by the end of the weekend

Man, when I'm in the market for some triples I know who to call. If only I hadn't bankrupted myself on engine work.

Nice work. How many operations? What aluminium are you using? 6061-T6? Any idea what the real cycle time is yet?

yes 6061 t6....and no idea on real time....to get the program really optimized I would need to make about 50 of them....I am not a machinist....haha
but I would imagine it to be 1.5 hours for raw material to finished piece not including the stem or headlight bracket.

Ive got more than 25 hrs in them so far....Im sure there are guys who could do it better/faster
