the gull wing offsets would allow the modern forks to run a little less cantered forward....so if i may come across a deal on a 6rr or 12r front...in which case there could be a hybrid consideration in my future too......of course i would want one that runs to build on

The tapered bars (Answer Pro Tapers, Renthal FatBar...)are 1 1/8" at the clamp and taper to 7/8" at the controls. These bars do not have the crossbar and utilize changing wall thickness and large diameter for strength. The 7/8" mount bars are uniform/symetrical with the crossbar for strength.

Personally, I favor the 1 1/8" clamps. If you're going to run Bens triple clamps and the associated forks, you AREN'T going for the classic look :P

I must know which bike will get the "hybrid" treatment?

With regards to the Answer and Renthal 1 1/8" bars, the bends are all dirt bike specific. There are some ATV bends that are taller with more pull back, but I'd need to know the specs for superbike bars to match a bend Mark.

if you run these ... or anybody elses triples all you really need is the brakes to go with the forks...
you dont need the triple clamps from the donor (gsxr 1000 in this case)...
I guesss you could use the fender if you wanted...but thats about it...
you can pick up gsxr forks and brakes really cheap off of ebay.
Oh ya a wheel as well...duh
still though it is quite reasonable....for what you get....Im sure those forks would be over 1K if bought through the dealer....probably another 1k for the complete brake set up.

i love how some builds go tits with everything but still retain the basic lines....your gull-wing design seems along those same thought lines big time and folks could still drop the forks if desired......

here is an unrelated MKII with all the bells and whistles except the upside down fork........

OK Mark, the closest MX bend I found was for a Raptor ATV. 813mm wide, 143mm rise, but with only an 86.5mm pull back. This compared to the superbike bars at 737mm wide, 64mm rise and 121mm pull back.

That IS a nice looking MKII Tri

that is getting there but way too high, at 5.6" .

813mm 32” wide, 143mm 5.6”rise, but with only an 86.5mm 3.4”pull back.
the superbike bars at 737mm 29”wide, 64mm 2.5” rise and 121mm 4.75” pull

i will keep looking. Thanks for the help Adam.
Nice video Ben.:woohoo: B)
