Did you do all that welding with those purty cases in the frame? Thanks for backtracking.

Jesus no! I covered it when tacking or grinding, and removed for welding. You have my permission to shoot me if I dared to harm the finish on my cases!

And FYI, its not so bad when the blue chip hits your toes, its when you jump and it fall under your foot and starts burning the bottom of your foot too :pinch:

is there a reason ...other than you dont have access....that you wouldnt just machine the swingarm to fit the stock frame dimension?
just curious....I think what you have done is awesome!....but I think my first instict would be to narrow the arm

The Triumph SSSA is not like a normal swingarm. That is, it is a hollow cast unit rather than machined/welded tubular stock. To make matters more difficult, the casting is asymmetrical, and the solid area of the swingarm where the bearing is seated is up against the hollow cast section, making it impossible to sink the bearing deeper into the arm. All that, and I don't have the machines to do something like that ;)

Its funny you should mention that Larry. I have been wondering about the side cover fitment myself. But with 2 missing mounting points on the right and one on the left AND a missing left side cover, I can only kinda check the right side. At the very least I am going to have to fab 3 mounts. I think for every problem I solve I create 2 more!

And you're welcome, irish Grasshopper ;)

I'm officially subscribed to this thread. AND YOU'RE IN SOCAL? Let me know if you need anything machined. I have a kz650 short chop that I built not too long ago that I added alot of custom goodies to.

Wow Wompy, have you actually stumbled your way through all 10 pages of my gibberish? I'm in Ventura County boss, where you located? Thanks for the offer for machine services, I may just take you up on your offer ;) Unfortuately you're jumping in to this thread right when I won't have good progress. The queen just had our 3rd little girl this morning B) That means garage time will be ...reduced ;)

Alright gentleman, I brought 3 beauties home today! The first two were my wife and baby girl. The third was in the trunk, my new (to me) rear wheel B)

So lets get this straight, you bring home a new baby, and the only picture you can post is a durn tire.:P I guess that you don't want the photochop crew to have their way with your family photos. I don't blame you there.

Nice looking roller there.
