I understand, I`m was thinking using Deutsch AT-DT type.

Amphenol Deutsch AT-DT Type Connector and Terminals

I have some questions around these:
1. Do I need a chrim tool for these connectors? Yes - if you use genuine DTM connector they require a specific "closed barrel" crimper (crimps 360 degrees - picture below) I am using the copy DTM connectors from Amazon that are less than half the price and use regular "open barrel crimpers"
2. I understand I need a tool for open them up? They use a "wedge" in the plug and socket that can be released with a "watchmakers" screwdriver
3. On the site they say that the kit fits 16-18 AWG terminals, is these the size include the insulation or only the core of the cabels? All cable sizes are quoted based on the copper core. Make sure you use "automotive" cable (it has thinner insulation than cable for other purposes which may not fit the connectors correctly.
4. I have order these cable kit  mo.unit Cable Kit - CafeRacerWebshop.com
5. Is it possible to go from one size og cable to another with these type of connectors? Yes as long as the thinner cable is a suitable gauge for the current being drawn through the circuit. If you look in fault finding guide ( link in my signature) there is a calculator to determine what gauge cable is required based on current draw and distance.

Is their other things I need for these kit with Deutsch AT-DT ? Depends whether you use genuine or copy (the copies in the pictures I posted seem of good quality)

AFAIK, any male or female single connector whithout insulation is an open barrel type.
Correct me if i´m wrong.....

Ahh so I need two tools than:
1. For connector whithout insulation
2. For AT-DT connector pins

Is it also reommend to have a tool for removing the insulation to not damage the cores?

If you choose to go with genuine DTM then you will need three tools - open barrel - closed barrel - insulated closed barrel

Thank you, looks like ring terminal is typical closed insulated terminal ?
I have looked for open barrel ring terminal, since I was thinking the open barrel is better ... ?

If you want to solder and sleeve your ring terminals they are available from the below (probably a supplier in your country that would be cheaper and quicker to ship) just search "uninsulated ring terminals" (open and closed are available)

Uninsulated Ring Crimp Terminals

A good wire stripper and cripping tool set (incl. inserts) is all you need....

That is not strictly correct (I mentioned interchangeable jaws in the connector post) however if using the DTM style closed barrel connectors you need the specific tool below. If you look at the example you will see there are 4 crimp points but there is no crimping on the insulation (best option is to use the "copy" DTM connectors which are compatible with a regular "open barrel" crimper as you posted)

You are correct Wookie!
For these type of connector it´s the right tool!

open barrel are preferable. that ring terminal w the yellow insulation isn't something I'd use on a motorcycle. can't check the crimp visually.
some tools:
open barrel crimper. these are typically ratcheting. the dies can be replaced for different terminals.
terminal pin extractor tool. cycleterminal has a set w white handles.  www.cycleterminal.com/crimp-tools.html   $12.95 ET 2pc set
wire strippers. most cheap crimping tools are also wire strippers. fine for stripping wire. but poor crimping.
plus:
heat shrink tubing. and/or. terminal covers. the stock wire harness has terminal covers for wires not routed to a plastic connector.

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge!

I have now ordered the Glarks waterproff connectors recommend by Wookie58.

I have a chrim tool (chep one), can I use it on open barrel terminals?

Will the result be good ?

Unfortunately not :( the crimper you have is for "insulated" closed barrel connectors denoted by the coloured spots on the side) you will need to buy an "open barrel" crimper (they are around 20 euro's for a reasonable set)
