2/3 Coil only fires half the time!!! RESOLVED :)

So I jumped both coil 12v feeds as well as the one for the Dyna-S (just to be certain), and I still have the same result! Coil 2/3 fires 1/2 the time, as shown by an idle rpm of 500-700 on my tach (it works correctly on the 1/4 coil). So tomorrow, I will ohm check the coil, and the wires, and if anyone has a check for the dyna-s I will run that too (may have gotten a bad one). Anything else I should check?

have you used your timing light, shining it so you can see the light flash. then move to each cylinder. If 1 is really dropping it will effect two as the coil twin fires through both. One from the center electrode to the side electrode, then the other reverse. Making a Loop. Bad plug wire or plug can cause this.

Tried a different brand of sparkplug? I've had more than a few NGK's fail right out of the box, so I'm usung either Accel #116 or Denso W24-ESU's gapped to 0.032".

Thank you for the link, it will come in handy. This may be a dumb question, but since the swap had the issue stay on the 2/3 coil, is it possible that the issue may be one of those 2 spark plugs? I would think not, but I guess it is possible for them to short out somehow. They are all brand new plugs, but sometimes I'm sure there are bad ones in the bunch.

WOW! I was just posting a question asking about that while you posted the answer. Strange! I am almost certain I am using NGK, so is there a way to check the plugs, or is it just to yank them out and crank the engine looking for spark?

Did you swap the pugs over to the working coil, to eliminate that?

No! That will be the first thing I try tomorrow! I didn't think that would make the coil fire intermittently as long as they were in the engine, they're grounded so I figured that couldn't be the issue!

Measure the Ohm's in those wires also, to be sure there is no problem with a Spark plug wire.

Primary resistance on the coil is ok, but I'm not sure what the secondary should be on the Dyna 3 ohm coils. I also checked the 2 wires off the problem coil, but I couldn't get a steady reading on either, though neither read 0.

You also said you were not getting a steady reading when checking voltage, is the Meter suspect? Try the measurement for Ohm's with the meter set to the 10K Ohm Scale. There should be a "Range" button. What meter do you have? I could Google it so I can help better.
You may have to Move the red lead to the Ohm hole on the meter. Also making sure the black is in the correct hole.

The meter seems to be working fine. Steady readings for voltage on the battery, and a nice steady 3.3 ohm reading for the primary on the coil. I'm not sure I had the probes held steady against the terminals for the plug wires. This is similar to the meter I have, if not the exact model:
