So I bought myself a hobby. This bike needs some serious TLC, and I plan to give it just that. I know it is going to be near impossible to find all the parts I will need, but I have already managed to track down a few things already. Here's a pic from today. It's still in the back of the truck, and it's a crappy cell pic, but you can get the idea. I will post more pics when I track down my digital camera I misplaced!
That goes a step beyond cool, right to F'N A!!!!! Nice find!

Most of them mated with oak trees here. I think they came as a bit of a shock after pre war tech 4 stroke thumpers and other such "classic" crap.
I had the following model, the S1 250 triple, but the twin was wilder.
The twin was the one with the rotary inlet valve gubbins I think.
Not sure...memory going:blink:
I'm not certain, but I think that sort of editing might offend me I'd take a tshirt repro of that tank STAT.
Excellent project - can't wait to see what comes of it.
LOL! Well, I edited it because I didn't want to offend anyone, nor did I want to be asked to not post here anymore.
As far as what will come of the project, I am HOPING to restore to original. Parts are going to be hard to come by, so I will either have to have parts fabbed, or embellish a little and stray a bit from the original.
It looks like it's in incredibly good shape for how old it is. At least from the pictures.
It isn't in bad shape at all, though it does look a bit better in the photos than in person. There is less wear, rust, and damage than you would expect for a 43 year old motorcycle, so I'm guessing that it probably sat for quite some time! It does turn over with some effort, but I think the batt is discharged/old and there are some minor issues with the engine too. I will get this bad boy back up and running like new eventually though!
