There's a Spectre 1100 diagram on pg 16 kind of near the bottom.
I just did a google search >> search = site:kzrider.com spectre loudhvx. then looked at the google image results. it was easy to find.

Thank you--I just looked at it and it is the same as the Police one I mentioned above. I do have one question though from the drawing--what is the CRANK PICKUPS that run from the IC Ignitor?

Your bike has electronic ignition. There's s a pulsing coil w 2 pickups mounted to the right side of the engine underneath the small pulsing coil engine cover. The 2 pickups send a signal to the igniter to fire the ignition coils. There's a timing advancer mounted to the end of the crankshaft that initiates or triggers the pickups. I guess that explanation is close enough. :)

The advancer should be serviced as part of a tuneup. clean, lubricate & inspect it. separate the rotor from the adv body to fill the groove w grease (I'm assuming yours has the groove). Operate the advancer to check that it moves freely. After servicing, check that the springs are good & operate it to verify that the rotor snaps back. Get a new engine cap cover gasket beforehand. or get 2-3 for spares.

ps: the motorcycle needs a good properly serviced battery to run right. It can run at lower speed w a weak battery, but at high speeds the bike will have a misfire, and I think a weak battery might stress the ignition components. not sure about that, though.

Did you look thru the pages to see if there's one for your bike? pg 11-on. It should be listed as an 81 KZ750-H2.
There's an 82 KZ750-H3 on pg 15 & an 81 KZ650-H1 CSR on pg 14. I did not look thru any more pages.
The 650-CSR is very similar to the 750H Ltd and has the same ignition system & charging system as the LTD.

Manual & factory wiring diagrams. If you need a pdf manual & Kawasaki wiring diagrams, search for 750turbo.com & mbsween KZ750L3. The Turbo site has a good manual w yellow/gold cover & colored wiring diagrams. There's another 750-4 pdf floating around the internet that's a poorly copied black-&-white version & the one on the Turbo site is much better. The KZ750L3 site has the cruddy pdf but good wiring diagrams. click The Bible link.

As suggested by martin_csr, check out the following links (the last 2 are wiring diagrams), which covers information for stock bikes:

mbsween.bike-night.com/kz750l3/index.html
mbsween.bike-night.com/kz750l3/manual.html
mbsween.bike-night.com/kz750l3/media/KZ750-H1-US.jpg
mbsween.bike-night.com/kz750l3/media/KZ750-H2-US.jpg

Would the contemplated bare bones set-up be for ignition only (get spark to the plugs), or would certain chassis wiring also be needed for such things as head lights, electric starter, etc?

Good Fortune! :)

I don't know how Martin finds them, but he's right on. I never did a Kz750H2 Ltd. Only two H1's and one H3, but one of those should work for an H2.

There's a diagram for the KZ550-F2 Ltd Shaft on pg 15 & there also should be a diagram for the 83 550-F1 Spectre (shaft drive), but I don't know what page the F1 Spectre is on. The F1 & F2 are probably very similar to the M1 Ltd Shaft.

As Martin said, the M1 should be similar to the F2. I don't show an F1 custom diagram in my files. Maybe I posted that the F1 would also be similar to the F2.

If it doesn't look like that diagram will work for you, I can draw up another one for an M1.

From the looks of it, it should work. I just can't believe Kawasaki p UK t out so many different wiring schematics for the same engine. I understand going from points to an electronic ignition, but i downloaded a PDF with all the full diagrams and from 79 to 86 there are 20. Some are because the North American/European difference, which to whatever may be the need for that; But i can't even find the correct OEM controls off Ebay. I got left hand controls from a 1984 because anything before that is wrong for my 1983 with the manufacturer date being 06/82. I'm gonna dk the tear down and rewire over next winter. I do wanna thank you for taking the time for replying though. I appreciate it!

Mattylight Barebones Bare Bones Wiring Diagram
1981 Kawasaki Kz750H2 for Nixon
Kz750H Kz750 H2 Kz 750 H 750H2 750H

EDIT/CORRECTION:
You didn't mention whether you were keeping the horn or not and the Cbr and Kz wire the horn differently. Also, I don't have an 81 H2 diagram, but I am working from 80 H1 and 82 H3 diagrams. Those two models wire the horn differently so I'm not sure which way the 81 H2 is wired. Since the horn button is from the Cbr which is more similar to the 82 H3 , I'm changing the drawing to reflect that. Because it uses a ground wire rather than the frame, it should have slightly better horn operation.
