Thanks Warren!! I wonder what that #25 part is then? I scanned over ebay and seems some Germany and Sweden ones had a knurled pad that said "side stand" highlighted in yellow, what's that about?

Thanks for verifying!! While we're on the topic of Z650's. I did a couple speedos for the 650..just for fun. But noticed on the EARLY one had some unique features. A convex glass and a black inner can. Ever seen that?ย

Yes that is correct. Convex glass and black surround on both bikes.ย
That I know for sure as speedo gets looked at often unlike a the hidden away non existant hazard switch ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks..Again! Being not too familiar with the 650, didn't they have a 1976 version too. Kinda like the 1972 Z1?

Tasking being a rivet counter isn't it, ha. I love it! Takes a lifetime sorting stuff, reference John Brooks and all his editions. I've said it before and proudly say it again, i don't know crap. Or be too consumed with what i do know to be jaded. Maybe Kim, who started this whole ball rolling, might take these bits off my hands? I know the Tachometer is pedestrian KZ900 but with a florescent orange tipped needle. Never know???ย

Yes, 650's started being made in late 1976 after the Japanese summer break. It's the same with pretty much any vehicle, eg, an 1980 model needs some stock to sell on 01/01/1980 so some have to made in 1979.
So 650's were made in 76 but they are deemed 77 models but that's not to say that orders were not fulfilled in late 76.
If he wants to know "for sure" any details I can check details on my 650.ย
The details are not quite so certain later in models life or where parts are used on various size bikes. 900 A4'S & 1000A1'S for example. I'm 100% certain that not every bike went out built to spec. If kawasaki had bikes on the line but lacked stock of a certain part to complete them but had stock of a similar part from a different model they would fit them to meet production schedules.ย
Carbs in particular seem to fall into this area.ย

The only reason i broached the conservative aspect is because he has a "number" 225" attached. So trying to maintain correct info, right as rain. By Golly if nothing else, i did indeed learn something today!ย ย

Thanks guys, awesome information ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘, will only have to refurbish the right hand switch unit now. Asphalt, I have a r/h switch unit that I got in ย a box of parts but is missing most of its insides, would you be interested in refurbishing this one? and then I can swap it out with the original one and send you that one to do next?
Thanks again ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
