I can't do that. I need to be able to sell this thing as I don't want to try and find hard to get parts for it anymore.

Still think it's weird that the plugs never got wet.

If you have CV carbs, that explains it. The slides only move when there is enough vacuum.
Maybe you're ready for a 550, 650 or a 750. I'm sure you'll be happier with more power. :woohoo:

to be honest when i fixed the diaphragms last year the bike kind scared me when i when wot. got used to it after a few rides though.
ive been eyeing a kz1100 going for $1200 but i kind of want to get something newer. would be great to get something new and something old so i always have something to ride if one is getting fixed.

i dont think those carbs are what it came with though. could be wrong.

If the little bike scarred you, the 1100 will give you a heart attack. :woohoo:

Yes, the GPz1100 are brutally powerful, definitely not for novices...yet.

Maybe a 550, you won't get bored of that easily and you'll notice a lot of similarities between that and your 305 twin.

That 550 impressed me. Too bad I had to sell it. :( They guy that first wanted to buy it didn't return my e-mail telling him I could deliver it for the gas money. He called yesterday and was dissapointed it had been sold. Missed it by one day. :(
I'd be proud to ride a 550, 650 or 750. It's all good. B)

Annnnnnd I'm back.

Took it for a ride for about 15-20 minutes to get it hot and set the idle. That's another story.
Got back and tried to get it to idle and it stalled. Went to restart and it won't start. I can give it gas while cranking and its firing but won't keep going. Nothing happens if I give it no gas.

Thing starts right up cold. It's the opposite of what it used to do. Used to take forever to start cold. Could it be an issue with the idle mixture screws I set to 1.5 turns out from seated or another carb issue?

It also lost power at higher rpms and I haven't set the ignition timing yet.

Check the advance, points, etc. It might be too rich. Float levels?

going to try and remember my test light today after work.

i checked float bowl levels before when i couldnt start it.

also read it could be bad coils or valve clearances.
