So should I just solder it back together to complete the circuit? Also, think this is the reason I have no juice to the starter button? I plan on soldering it tommorow if thats the best way?

It looks like it needs to be re-connected. Your starter button is more than likely supplying the power to the other wire on the solenoid, and this disconnected one is the ground. So with it disconnected the solenoid cannot work, because the circuit is incomplete. It takes both a power wire and a ground to make the solenoid work. When it does work it will make an audible click, and connect those two big battery cables terminals together so the starter motor will receive its power from the battery.

Ok, First off MOTORHEAD, YOUR A FREAKIN GENIUS!!! Two. Should i solder the two wires together? idk if they need to be apart with a slight gap or fully connected?

If I can add a side note, i tried jumping the connection on the solenoid today which turned the motor? Should it be able to start from that and get running? Wasnt succesful!

Again, I just might send you a red ale for Christmas! words cant describe!!!!

Those wires and any others need to have a good clean connection. This is always an issue on these older bikes. Aged and dirty electrical.
If the Stock Male and Female ends connect tightly and are clean they should make good contact. Solder them if you want to, you can always un-solder later if you for some reason need to replace the solenoid.

I believe it is a KZ750-L3. Ed

I was thinking either that or an 82 GPZ 750 www.bikepics.com/kawasaki/gpz750/82/pics.asp

So hard to tell with all that black

I think the GpZ 750 had clip-on style handlebars rather than a single bar. If it's an '83 KZ750-L3 the fairing has been added (maybe from a GpZ) to make it look very much like a GpZ. Maybe the VIN would shed some light on it. Ed

Take a look at the triple tree for your bike in the parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com. The upper section is unique to the GpZ750-R1, but the lower section (including the tube) is used on the KZ700-A1, KZ750-L3, and GpZ750-R1. This means it is possible that the upper triple tree piece from the KZ700-A1 or KZ750-L3 might fit on the lower part from your bike. The upper section is what the handlebars clamp to. IF the top of your fork tubes are compatible with the upper half of the A1 or L3 you might be able to swap the upper half of the tree and this might allow you to install bars instead of clip-ons. Or I might be totally wrong on this. Ed

If anyone is reading, I believe i need a new starter solenoid, it pretty much fell in half, and i havent heard any clicks when pressing the starter button. Any idea where to get one?

If you have a ride on Lawnmower, you can borrow the one off of it for testing. Otherwise the Mower Shops would have one reasonable. OEM Kawasaki, as well as Aftermarket ones are at most Bike Shops. z1enterprises.com could hook you up with a New Replacement one, and other pieces you might need.

Either one is fine, and that looks like a very good price. What about shipping though, will you get free shipping?

says its free shipping, however its for the kz550a model, i dont know much about compatiable parts, is it necessary for this part? thanks again for your replies.

Also, to update you, i noticed today when looking at the fuse box, that when i jiggled it it was shortening the headlight and turn signals. however the glass fuses were fine. They had continuity in all three of them with no resistance, i tested everything.
