sooo, rode my kz750 twin for the first time, rides super smooth, but honestly im quite disappointed in the low end power. I really feel like it doesn't have anymore low end torque than my kz400. is there anything i can upgrade that wouldn't be a dramatic change? Or do you think i could just be losing power, maybe it's not running correctly, i mean it does idle quite weird and i have messed with the ignition timing. it will idle in triplets, like burrum dum dum burr um dum dum. I feel stupid using onomatopoeia to describe the sound of my bike lol, but i think you get it, it almost idles like a two stroke does. I also am not too fond of this gravity feed i have any cheep upgrades available

Find a set of stock pipes with the crossover. Mine used to pull like a freight train from 2000 RPM up with the original pipes.

you mean cross over as in 2 into 1? cause that's what i have. AND THAT MAKES ME HAPPY THAT MEANS THERE'S HOPE! but right now idk what's going on, maybe it's just running on one cyl. but both pipes are hot as hell. Like i said idles weird and occasionally backfires when revved, any videos on changing the valves on these DOHC? they confuse me with no rockers!

I would think bottom end is what the twins would be best at. If it's your first time with it, might be worth going through and syncing the carbs, checking plugs to make sure your mixture is right, and the like.

Crossover is where it's 2 into 2, but there's a connector between the two.

If you think it's running maybe on just one. Let it cool completely. Where you can grab the engine and pipes. Then start it up, and check how hot the two pipes are getting coming out of the head. They'll be notably different if one isn't firing.

but wouldnt you get better airflow with a 2 into 1? being that they meet at an angle which both tubes are being forced in the same directing rather than having to turn at a right angle? idk maybe not

Other possible reasons for weak pull-away could include issues with carb (such as air leak, non-sync or incorrect pilot mixture), or issue with ignition timing, or with functioning of the timing advancer.

Good Fortune! :)
