Depends on who makes it. Yamaha top ends hold up better than Honda. Yamaha got a better handle on valve and valve seat materials, plus their 5 valve heads hold lash adjustment a long, long, long time.

Those new bikes don't even need their valves checked for 10's of thousands of miles.

I almost dropped a valve when I read this one. Had to try and explain the context to the wife since I was laughing histerically.

OMR's lower case vent mod. Effin hilarious.

Next secret...

DFI with a grooved throttle body. This is worth mega hp. If you don't have it...get it. Without it you're just another sucker on a KZ trying to go faster than a new 600.

I believe in this technology so much that I signed up with my $5000 payment to become a licensed groover  Yep..a measly five grand and you can start knocking down $300 to $400 for an hours work... What are you waiting for....get in on the ground floor B)

Pay close attention here and you will be AMAZED ....OR MABY NOT :cheer:

you walk up to him at a stop light and kick the bike over...other than that you will lose every time...

if the rider knows his bike and knows how to go through the gears and revs....he is gonna win

oh and thats just the new 600's

hows about racing against something your own size, will ya

these things rock

but our day is done and the value and enjoyment will be had even more now that everyone is chopping, bobbing,or dragging them....gotta love a good backroad or a trip to the parks...these are great bikes...but they are what they are...or were...
sure you make em badass for 5000+ the kz donor bikes original cost to begin with....but the point is......a 4000 dollar craiglist modern performance bike
is gonna beat em anyways...hell even the new harley's and the kits folks sell will give em a run

it aint 1973 no mo
