OK, can anybody tell me what I got myself into here? It's an impulse eBay buy. Did Yoshi ever make a cyclone exhaust for the KZ's?

What in the hell are these?!?!?!?

It looks like a couple from another bike or universal pipes. I like that look!

Personally the yosh pipes are fugly or boring looking if you ask me.

It is in two parts, but I think it is rusted together. After some grinding and prepping, I'm sure I can get it to two pieces =]

Looking a little further down the track with my '78 Z1-R resto - when I get to choosing an exhaust system I'll be interested to know which systems offer a nice deep note and work well without needing extensive mods to the inlet side. The original 4:1 has been butchered and is pretty much beyond recovery! I had a '91 Zephyr 750 which had a supertrapp stainless sytem and this worked well with a nice sharp "bark". Not a huge lot of choice downunder and freight costs from USA are pretty big for bulky/heavy items. But there are Oz dealers who stock Kerkers, Megacycle, Vance and Hines. Any thoughts...?

For something different, I bought a pipe from Marving which is brilliant - (their racing version), its not as loud as Kerker, Yoshi. I bought it through Monster parts in the US, they matched / bettered the price from UK - at the time.
The last Marving I bought for my FJ1200 I got from the UK. It was still cheaper than buying it in Oz.
The larger pipe is a street version, very quiet, less power.
The thinner pipe is a Racing Version and hell what a difference, it easily compares/ better than my previous racing pipes. Excellent quality. I bought the tail end only to match the existing headers, it was very cheap 4yrs ago approx $180 delivered, bargain.

G'day Bozo (and all),
Sorry for not keeping this thread going!
Like the sensible mods on your bike! Nice little rack, neat oil cooler install, different brake setups - I see you've got two rear ends, one with a MkII disc and the other with the wave disc . Also some other carbs.....?
Does the WA Mr Plod give you much grief with the louder of the 2 pipe s? I like the slimmer look of the racing pipe and I gather that it sounds/works ok. too? What jetting changes did you have to make to your carbs with this pipe? I plan to use the std carb/air cleaner/breather setup - not into max power WFO/racing/sprinting just like a nice sounding pipe that works ok. $180-00 for the pipe is cheap - I note that Wemoto UK are selling the complete racing 4:1 for just under $600-00 incl shipping to Oz which is pretty good! Some PO has hacked up my original headers and collector box but I may resurrect these slowtime while I use the Marving to get her on the road again.

Cheers,
Bill.
