MAC/Yoshimura exhaust systems.

I already posted this on another thread but I feel I hijacked it. I would like to therefore start a new thread for this subject. This next paragraph is a repost of a statement I made before.

I just got off the phone with MAC. They used to make ALL THREE of the Yoshimura pipes. Series I, II, III. They are now just coming out with a New competition pipe which is going to be like the Yoshimura series III. They will be about the only US company making 4-1 exhausts for our bikes in the US. All others are discontinuing the vintage bike lines. I asked him about the Yoshimura series I pipe and if he could reproduce it. He stated it was designed strictly for drag racing and the Daytona record runs back in 1973. The MAC megaphone pipe will be the option for the now discontinued Kerker. Mac makes a replacement baffle for the Kerker pipe for $39. The postage to Canada for the Baffle would be $39 priority mail because it is over 4#. I talked extensively to one of the owners and am attempting to get him to join this sight and to give us more technical insight about exhaust systems.

The pipe on the record bike is a Yoshimura series I with No Baffle.

This is an original Yoshi series I pipe. Not one of the new hand bent ones.

What does a stage III pipe look like (since the Mac pipe will be similar)?

The stage three pipe looks very much like the Kerker "K" series but with a shorter can. I have one off the bike that I can take a picture of and post.


By the way, this is what happens when you buy a Kerker megaphone pipe. :lol: :woohoo: :ohmy:

OK here are some pictures of my Yosh series III. The header pipe has been sandblasted and phosphated with Rust Mort a year ago. Nothing els has been done to it.

The collector pipe on this is EXACTLY the same size as on a Kerker. Except for the little end on the can and the emblem, most people would not be able to distinguish it from a Kerker "K" series pipe.

Show Me. :lol: Mac will have four different systems for out bikes. The Classic CAN system 4-1, the megaphone system4-1, the new system with the Aluminum can similar to the preceding pictures, and the 4-2 with two different tail pipes available.

The Kerker megaphone, is just that , I thought the Mac has a pipe attatched to the meg. allthough, i just notice that these 2 Macs are dif in that reguard? anyone know whats going on here? i got these pics from my header pic post.

Did they give you a heads up on when they would be releasing the new design?
