should be enough to get it running.....my bike gets about the same with new wiring harness.....i ve probably got a loss in the area of the controls.....on a 30 something year old bike with original wiring, you are gonna loose some...
rule out some air leaks and try it....valve adjust is next....check your pm's......

if you have it on the side stand, oil will collect in that area....dont sweat it....i take it you are checking valve clearances?....take the plugs out to make it easier and use the kicker or pull ignition cover where points live and use 17mm and 17 mm only to turn motor over untill 2 of the cam lobes are facing 180 away from buckets...get your feeler guages
and see what clearance is...write this shit down...see if two of the ehuast are 180 ...check them too and write it down......rotate around till the other 2 are 180 away...measure.....you get the idea.....

:woohoo: 10.8 is WAY NOT ENOUGH for anything..you should have nearly exactly the same voltage at coils as is at battery.

13+ Volts once idling.

Fix this first!

my bike has the same voltage....how do explain good plug readings, great driveability(never a fart or a hiccup) and bike starts by breathing on the button hot or cold?....i m just wondering....

I am a little confused about checking the valve clearance......
OK you saidwhen they are facing 180 away from buckets...the books said turbot until the markes on the can chain spoket thing lines up with the engine.
So the ones I'm checking are at percicely 180 from the buckets not 90.right
