Just updated the po.licy. Added the roadside assistance. Policy states it's $10. The invoices say $8 and the other one says $9 increase. Whichever one it is still seems more than reasonable. The fine print says they basically show up and help you out. On paper, seems impressive.

I don't recommend riding without it, but I did when I was young. I used to speed quite a bit in my youth as well. I generally keep it under 10 mph over the posted limit. That seems to be the real speed limit any way.
Montana doesn't require it either so I didn't carry it. Then ad some of you know, I wrecked my bike. I bent the front wheel so bad that I could not move the bike. The problem was it was on a tight blind corner on a busy summer day. That was when I realized I really need the insurance. What if someone came around the corner and also got in an accident by hitting my bike or trying to avoid it? I would have been in serious trouble. I cert would not have funds today to rebuild my bike. Fortunately I had souch adrenaline running through me that I managed to flip and drag the bike to the side of the road.

Colorado also raised the registration fee that was around $11.00 for an older motorcycle to around $60.00, so I suppose I wouldn't registered most of them anyway. I can take 90 seconds, remove the plate of a newer motorcycle, put it on one of the KZs. Heck with the insurance crap.

Over the years I have received several letters from the Oregon DMV questioning my lack of insurance on registered bikes. I can only guess they took a break from their coffee breaks and queried my insurance company. Each time they surprisingly, accepted my explanation that these bikes were part of my collection and were not driven on the road.RonKZ650 wrote: I wish Colorado didn't require it.
