Still on the fence on that one. If I go it alone, I will be riding and most likely the new addition coming from California. Still, the idea of riding in those mountains and coming back through Sturgis sounds quite appealing. Time will make the clear options appear as we get closer to the date.
I would be interested in splitting a cabin with you. How long do you plan on staying?

Second question has anyone designed a shirt yet? I would like to I have a friend in the business. I would like it to say First Annual KZ Rally with the location on the the back like the outline of the four corners States. I will get it designed and post it for votes. I believe that there will be a lot of folks that would love to come but it may be to far for them to travel. Wouldn't it be great to have the next Annual KZ Rally say on the East Coast? GA perhaps. Helen GA has some great roads. I'm sure there are thousands of other places. Feedback on these ideas from everyone would be great.
Here is the link to that page of their website showing rates>>> www.uteblufflodge.com/Rates-and-Policies.aspx The lodge, cabin and RV rates listed are the standard pricing. The owners of the Ute Bluff Lodge are offering a 10% discount to our Rally Group. Just mention you are attending the KZ Relay Rally whether for one night or the entire Rally. They also have tent campsites available. Campsites from what I recall are very reasonable. I suggest contacting the Ute Bluff Lodge to get specifics on tent campsites. I highly recommend reserving your lodge room, cabin, etc now to ensure you have a spot. If you decide to change later from a cabin to a lodge room or whatever, the owners will work with you as long as they have availability. The reservation deposit and cancellation policy is cleary stated on the above website page. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy on lodge rooms and 14 day cancellation notice policy on cabins for full refunds. There is plenty of time to hold your place even if you make later changes close to the Rally dates.
Future Rallys? Hey, No problem here! I have been to N. GA on several occassions. Pretty country for sure. I am simply focusing on this one for now!
Only a little over 7 months to go! :woohoo:

I still highly recommend contacting Ute Bluff Lodge or your place of choice and make your reservations. The closer to The Rally the less available spaces will be. AND, let us know on this thread if you are planning on attending. It would be helpful for planning. For intance, I may be passing through Omaha and joining others for the remainder of the inbound leg of the road trip to South Fork, CO. I am starting to get pumped! :woohoo:

I've got an invitation outstanding to a buddy of mine in Kansas City to attend the Relay Rally in August with me. I'm sure I won't get a firm, definite answer from him until just days before departure.
So at this point I'm thinking about renting a cabin so that I have space available no matter what he decides. It appears the cabins sleep anywhere from 6 to 10 people so there should be adequate room for a few extras. What are you guys planning on doing for accommodations?
Assuming I get the largest available cabin you're welcome to "join the crowd". Your share of the cost would be maybe $20 - $25 a night; I'd pick up the rest of the cost.
The reservation policy at the lodge is 25% down for an advance reservation. That 25% deposit is refundable if the cancellation is made with greater than 14 days notice.
If I'm able to attend the event, then the cancellation policy isn't a problem. if I'm unable to attend however I'd still contribute my 25% towards the reservation, but that would leave you guys responsible for the remaining 75%. At a rack rate of $200 per night less the 25% I'd contribute in the event I'm unable to attend, that's $150 per night that you guys would potentially be responsible for. That's about $75 per person per night if you get "stuck".
Let me know if you're interested.

Interested. I need to get with Forrest to see when he's passing through here, and whether he has any seats left in the truck. Not a very good chance of me taking the bike at this point. And...I know from a previous post that I am "There!" because that's what I said a few months ago, but I need to seriously look at my road racing and drag racing dates (not out yet for Topeka and MAM)...upncummr wrote: saxjonz / goodfastncheap:

That's a bummer that you might not be able to take the bike. What's up with that?
Re: HPT and MAM - those are recurring events that you can do multiple times each year and multiple years....but the Relay Rally.....that could be a singular event. But if you wouldn't be able to ride, I could see that making HPT and MAM events much more attractive.
