Yup, I was dodging lighting coming back through Columbus. Reminded me a bit of our return leg on the KZ Flag Relay around Casper, WY. LOL!

Only 4 Months until the Rally! :woohoo:

I'm gettin jazzed! :woohoo: :woohoo: Things are going well here in New Mexico. Will have moms house ready for sale by Palm Sunday. Then a memorial picnic and I 'll be on my way back to Wisconsin. I'll be stopping at Ute Bluff Lodge on the way and will shoot some pics for all you folks. The weather hear is perfect. 60's day time and 30's at night. And windy too. But that's typical in Northern New Mexico. Wish I had a bike here. :(

Just an FYI Tom: The Ute Bluff Lodge is closed between 4-8-14 & 4-21-14. That is the owners vacation time and typically slowest business period for them. Otherwise, you will find Craig & Annette Williams there to greet you as well as show you around.

ALSO, for those that have not made reservations there is one cabin remaining, 12 lodge rooms, and fair number of RV & camping spaces remaining. Waiting much longer could mean less availability. Annette informed me today that they are seeing an increase in reservations for July and August. Now is the time to make reservations if you plan on attending.

Well, I made my reservation today, in person. I met Craig and Annette this afternoon. Very nice folks. The cabins and lodge look real nice fom the outside. I didn't have the opportunity to get an inside look. The place is clean and well maintained. The RV and tent spaces are a little sparse. Not many trees and sideby side spaces, but we aren't going to spend a lot of time in camp anyway. About half of the pics I took didn't store in my phone for some reason, but here are a couple.

The road to Durango is an awsome trip for a bike. Lots of curves and up and down to keep your ears a poppin. Elevations are 6500' feet and up, so a little tweek on the pilots of VM carbs might be in order. BS 34's should have no problem.

CRAP!! the pictures didn't upload. I'll figger it out tomorrow.

I'm in a motel in Cortez now. I'll be heading to 4 orners in the morning then back to Las Vegas, NM. I'll have more pictures tomorrow.

I sure wish I was riding rather than driving. The Rockies are awsome. There is still a lot of snow up here. In fact the chair lift was operating at one ski area I passed at Wolf Creek.

In no particular order: The entrance to Ute Bluff Lodge, The rec room with TV and kitchen . A couple of the road. More tomorrow.

More pics from my travels. First one is the view from just south of the motel I stayed at in Cortez, CO.
The next 2 are along the way to 4 Corners on US 160. US 160 runs all the way from Ute Bluff lodge to 4 corners. Its about 3 1/2 - 4 hours traveling.A little longer on a bike allowing for gas stops. Cortez was about 40 miles from 4 Corners.
