Here is a pic of my zed at this years bike week show on the gold coast, queensland. Australia

Don't you guys be fooled by Dave's modesty. That 650 is VERY special. Dave bought it new and it now has an 810 kit along with Dave's home-brew fuel injection system on it AND has done serious mileage. Check out the full story in the April/08 issue of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics. This is quite a machine when all is said and done. Congrats to you, Dave. It's nice to see a 650 that has been taken to the next 2 or 3 levels.....and has been durable and desirable enough for you to keep on making improvements over the past 28 years. Talk about loyalty.....B) ;)

KZ650C2 Stock/mint. Goes by "Ace".

Since it's been almost 10 months since anyone has posted to this thread I figured I'd revive it. Since #1 I picked up another 650 from Roy at Mid-Ohio I figured now would be a good time. Besides I enjoy kicking Bad Kaw in the nads over his lack of a KZ650 and since I've had a really stressfull week I figured it would be good therapy for me. Here is a pic of the bike I bought from Roy. I'm also going after a 79 1000 LTD in the morning with 4000 original miles on it, the seller tells me it still has the original Goodyear AT tires on it with the little nubs still there. He took the engine out to clean it up so I'll need to re-install it but that only takes a couple of hours. It also comes with a std Z-1 fuel tank as well as the original LTD tank. I've been on the hunt for a bike like this to add to my collection and persistance finally paid off.

I'm too lazy to look back and see if I posted on this one. I've got my good 650s all covered up and haven't even looked at them since last summer, but I have this one that's my favorite anyway. I was tired of riding my good bikes to work and see finger prints on them, get hailed on ect, so for $150 back in 1996 I bought this 1977 KZ650, used all used bodywork that I had laying around and made something I can ride all yr around and not care about getting dirty. I got it had 25,000 miles now has 66,000. All my good KZs over the years I've had, this one has been the best reliable worker. 41,000 miles besides the tires and normal things I've had near zero problems with it. Not the most beautiful 650 in the world, but I still get people raving about it? Kind of junk to me, but it's been real great to me.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
